Ryan’s Hope: A Soap Opera About Paul Ryan’s Indecision
Erick Erickson Radio ^ | 10-20-15 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 10/21/2015 3:20:07 AM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Good grief, Paul Ryan is a one man soap opera.

First he doesn’t want it. Then he still doesn’t want it. Then he kinda, sorta, maybe wants it. Then he does not want it again. How many weeks into the saga of Ryan are we?

Now, if only they will hand him the laurel crown he will take the burden begrudgingly, but they must be unanimous, fawning, and accommodating to the Princeps Ryan, our Immortal Beloved.

Good grief.

There are houses full of sorority sisters on great campuses within the SEC who have less drama within them than Paul Ryan has as one man. Poop or get off the pot, will ya?

But on top of that, Ryan is coming in with a list of demands as if he’s a savior. This should be a big red flag to the House Freedom Caucus. They should be making the demands. Instead, Paul Ryan and his friends in the media are trying to make the House Freedom Caucus their pet chihuahua in a sorority colors tutu.

By next week, we will be watching Jim Jordan perform stupid pet tricks on the floor of the House of Representatives all because Paul Ryan demands unfailing loyalty, fealty, and unity as if he is the second coming of Julius Caesar. I think it is a terrible idea to put a man in the Speaker’s Chair who is behaving with the ego of Barack Obama and the demands of a Caesar.

And one more thing — Paul Ryan wants to talk about vision without laying one out. What the hell is his vision? Are Republicans in the House supposed to make him chair and then find out? What if they don’t like it. That Team Ryan treats vision as a buzzword suggests we will next be treated to words like “holistic”, “synergy”, and “disruptive innovation” without any of the speakers actually having a clue what they mean.

But by God, Paul Ryan is going to herd cats through hyperlocal innovation in a seamless rightshoring effort because we have reached a pain point post low hanging fruit processing and need to unpack and streamline the granular organic growth of the House of Representatives.

For those of you who think I’m joking about the corporate buzzwordiness of it all, Paul Ryan actually said, “If I become speaker, I want us to become the solution.” You cannot make this up.

I think I’d rather nominate one of the sorority sisters at the University of Georgia for Speaker. At least she’d be less of a drama queen and not nearly as high maintenance.

I ping you to this editorial comment by Erick Erickson, not because I agree, but because it is funny. I generally like Paul Ryan and think he offers more that is good than negative. Republicans could do worse. However, I have my reservations about some of his stands, as do all conservatives.

But, I think that it is just untenable to “demand” total compliance from other Republicans. It’s never going to happen and it reminds me of the childish hippies of the ‘60s and their “non-negotiable demands”.

Has the author expressed similar comments about the indecision of Joe “Foot in mouth” Biden?

That’s the perfect pose for Paul’s left hand to take; while wearing oversized jeweled rings on each finger as he holds a crystal globe in the palm on his hand. Put an ermine stole around his long neck while you’re at it.

Unfortunately, the reality of Congress is that it is almost exactly like the TV show House of Cards. It is full of marginal people who are limited intellectually and hamstrung by their inability to come anywhere close to understanding their job or caring what their job is. They have no soul, no character and no goal or function in life other than to be the top pig in a trough full of swine thrashing about without any motivation other than getting fatter by devouring all they can. Congress is one of three entities on the planet Earth who along with the executive and judiciary have the ability to commit suicide for the population they supposedly work for while never themselves being touched by their own actions. They are scoundrels by proxy, thieves by nature and worthless in reality.

Ryan is what he is and what he is is not anything of value other than to himself.

Ryan’s hesitation is good. He realizes he’s walking into a hornets nest of popular rebellion against the elites and anyone who takes up the mantle, but not the cause is finished politically.

And this “rebellion” is just getting warmed up, the people have already smelled blood...Too late to stop the natural course of things.

I hope Ryan will decline, for Paul Ryan’s sake. If he could not handle crazy Uncle Joe in the debate, he cannot handle the turbulent House

MSNBC Morning Joe has discussed this today already. Joe thought it doubtful the way Ryan, like Boehner, listed his so called “demands” in public, to the Washington Press Corp, before ever approaching quietly and even individually the Freedom Caucus.

The Caucus is exhausted with the top down leadership, where they are called by Boehner to a meeting only to meet, on the way, all the reporters who told them what the strategy of the “meeting” was going to be. Ryan essentially did the same thing yesterday.

Never mind that Ryan is all in for AMNESTY cram down.

I’m thinking that his rude public demand grandstanding MIGHT have been to draw out TRUMP. Do you suppose? I mean he is the antithesis of Trump on immigration, and conceivably the only real reason he wants the dang job— to muscle through the amnesty intention same as Boehner.

Ryan is in the pocket of the USCCB for open borders and amnesty and all goodies for all invading illegals, at any cost apparently.

Oh, I agree, he was outmatched with “The Joker” Biden. That was terrible and Ryan had no recourse against that grinning lecherous creep. It was painful to watch. I’m sick of mewling politicians kowtowing to the left on every point. This is why Ryan will fail as a leader, he falls firmly in he mewling middle and will not be a warrior for the constitution and freedom.

When you’re getting Harry Reid’s support and you’re a so-called conservative you bet there are red flags everywhere.

Exactly. Right now America needs a warrior prince. If we cannot get a warrior prince, a warrior king will do.

Go Trump!

And this is the man who will travel coast to coast tirelessly promoting the conservative agenda?

He's a boring wonk RINO with young kids at home. This is all about ego, and it appears to be that Ryan's is insatiable.
