Ronda Rousey Enrages Salon With Her Refusal to Ape LGBT Talking Points
Newsbusters ^ | 10/20/15 | Dylan Gwinn

Salon is scared of a girl. Okay, I’m scared of this girl too, but for a completely different reason. According to Salon, though Rousey is a woman and has become one of the most dominant athletes in any sports, male or female, she shouldn’t automatically be considered a role model on that basis. Because…wait for it…transphobia:

**WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE**

“While Rousey is all people say she is (and more) athletically, outside of martial feats, her role model status is questionable. First, Rousey has a history of highly transphobic remarks and flat-out ignorance when it comes to trans athletes. In 2013, when UFC fighter Matt Mitrione made offensive comments about transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox, calling her a “lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak,” the New York Post asked Rousey for her thoughts on Mitrione’s words. Rousey said he expressed himself “extremely poorly” and that she could “understand the UFC doesn’t want to be associated with views like that.” But in that same interview, Rousey didn’t exactly demonstrate a predilection for sensitivity. “She can try hormones, chop her pecker off, but it’s still the same bone structure a man has,” Rousey said about Fox. “What if she became UFC champion and we had a transgender women’s champion? It’s a very socially difficult situation.”

It’s only a “socially difficult” situation thanks to people like Rousey. Earlier this year, Rousey tried softening her words — though not changing her opinion — in an interview with the Huffington Post. “From what I’ve read, it seems if like you’ve already gone through puberty as a man, even if you really want to rid yourself of those physical advantages, I just don’t think science is there yet.”

Rousey studied the wrong “science,” because claims of supposed transgender superiority in athletics are categorically false and have zero scientific backing.”

Zero scientific backing of transgender superiority you say? Okay, well let’s ask someone who has actually felt the power of a female fighter and a transgender fighter, and see what they say.

Here’s what MMA fighter Tamikka Brents had to say after suffering a fractured orbital socket and a concussion at the hands of transgender fighter Fallon Fox:

“I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right,” she stated. “Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn’t move at all in Fox’s clinch…

“I still disagree with Fox fighting,” Brents stated. “Any other job or career I say have a go at it, but when it comes to a combat sport I think it just isn’t fair. At least not until we have more scientific proof that it is or isn’t fair. More research is needed for sure. Like I said, I am not a doctor, I can only say my opinion and I don’t believe that she should be allowed to fight other women. If it were strictly BJJ or wrestling or something like that sure, but MMA is a completely different sport.”

Hmm. Could it be that “his grip was different” because his gender was different? Apparently concussions and fractured orbital sockets aren’t science.

But that’s not the only thing that bothers Salon:

**WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE**

“But her insensitive musings go beyond transmisogyny and transphobia. This summer, Rousey decried what she called a “do-nothing b*tch”:

“I have this one term for the kind of woman that my mother raised me to not be and I call it a ‘do-nothing b*tch.’ The kind of chick that just, like, tries to be pretty and be taken care of by somebody else. That’s why I think it’s hilarious, like, that people like say that my body looks masculine or something like that. I’m just like, listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than f*cking millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine. I think it’s femininely badass as f*ck. Because there’s not a single muscle on my body that isn’t for a purpose. Because I’m not a do-nothing b*tch.

Being proud of your body is great. Burying other women because they have a different body than yours is not. As Alanna Vagianos noted in the Huffington Post, Rousey’s DNB speech is “certainly not empowering, and it certainly does nothing to combat the large issues that create a society where athletic bodies like Rousey’s are judged as less than.”

Wha? I thought libs didn’t want women to just “try and be pretty, to be taken care of by somebody else?” I thought libs wanted women to be self-sufficient, with an identity that wasn’t dependent on a man? Has their anger and rage at Ronda Rousey’s refusal to kiss the transgender ring contorted them into a rear-naked choke of stupid? To the point where they’re actually contradicting their own feminist talking points in order to shame her into wearing their militant feminist crown?

Yep.

Bro, that’s not a punch. That couldn’t break an egg compared to what I’ve been hit with.

No way less than 30 or 40 of those punches could take me out.

I’m sorry. That’s just how i see it.

Put a Mike Tysen punch side by side in his early days!!!

I’ve sparred with female black belt Krav Maga and Muay Thai . I can definitely hit harder, I’m definitely stronger, have at least 85 pound weight advantage. The difference definitely comes down to speed; its just amazing how fast these chicks are, along with perfect technique. If it were just punches with no kicks, no judo, no jujitsu...yeah I might feel better about my chances. But they just have so many weapons, its really impressive.

If it weren’t for the warmup, Rousey would not even break a sweat knocking out most of her professional fight opponents, she does it so quickly.

She was still treated better than guys who say the same thing. Guys would have lost their jobs and had a whole smear campaign started against them.

And of course the dude is going to beat the woman. If this isnt the decisive experiment that proves the best women cant go up against an athletic guy taking female hormones - ie weaker than he ought to be - vi di ation of women not being in combat. For their safety and the mens safety.

oh, if you’re throwing judo, jujitsu and kicks in, if i dont hit her in the first literally 3 seconds, it’s over!!!!

We used to beat the karate guys that came to box us.

I would NEVER fight them if they could use karate!!

On THAT POINT, you win.

Boxing i win.

Everything!!! 95 percent, she wins, unless i get a FAST BRUTAL first punch.

Oh, I am not saying that she could beat you in a fight.

I was just providing an example of her fighting. She is definitely the most impressive female fighter I have seen. I think it can be safely said that she do not fight like a girl.

Now, I know she could beat some men. She already has in an incident outside a bar one night apparently. I know she could beat me, and I have trained to fight, but I’m old and squishy now.

But could she beat a trained male MMA fighter? I don’t know, I don’t think so.

But I also know that she does not want to fight men, and I respect her for that, because I think women fighting men would be bad for the sport. It’s just not something I want to see.

Also, far as these trannny dudes go, they should start their own it league and fight among themselves and leave normal folk alone.

Do you think you could last more than 4 minutes with her ?

Probably not. Oh, wait! You mean in the ring!

After my head cleared I just sat there amazed. I have been hit by some big boys and shrugged it off. I have been hit by others and gone down (Sometimes because of the beer involved, sometimes because it was a damn hard hit.) Never got one shot knocked out. But it was DAMN close.

She really is on a whole ‘nother level.

Like many or even all of the division in the UFC, the difference between the champ and the next ranked fighter is stark.

However, in Ronda’s case, that difference is a big as the universe. She is a real special fighter.

Oh yeah, just boxing I'm sure you would take her. It's the dozen other tricks she knows that concerns me, lol.

Rousey would literally kill you..or most any other nonprofessional male fighter.

Uh, not a chance. She would have no chance against any big, powerful male. The difference in height, weight, reach, strength, power, etc., is just too great.

Her chance for a draw would be, I would not hit her, because I would not hit a woman, and because I'd be afraid of killing her if I did. So I would just wrap her up and hold her.

LOL. if Dawn hit me in the head in extreme anger, it WOULD HURT!!

As far as bar brawls, on Staten Island, even though I’m italian, it was the italians who always wanted to fight,.

The steriod guys were the easiest, their punches didn’t really hurt, and they were slow.

The animals sons of mobsters fought so often that their punches hurt. They would also resort to brass knuckles and blackjacks.

Pieces of @#$@#$. Got into a fight with a guy, bouncer friends threw him out, three of his friends snuck in and tried to drag me out after a punch a should have been expecting.

Bouncers saved me. Forty of them outside waiting for me. No cops show up ever on SI unless there’s a murder.

I had about 20 friends.

One friend got face shattered with a blackjack, big Frank went out there alone and came back barely scratched and called the @#@#s lol.

CRAZY NIGHT!!!!

i miss being 18!!!

I bet you haven’t asked for a beer since lol.

We were on the wrong wavelengths :)

Miracle punch or she wins, probably easily, when you throw in everything.

Now, all she would have to do is make me try to stand for three minutes and she’d win lol.

What a shame...can’t wait till that time machine is invented and i can be 20 again :)

Read the other posts; we distinguished between just straight up boxing (which I think a bigger, stronger trained man would win) as compared to using the full bag of MMA tricks (kicks, judo, jujitzu, etc), which I believe the MMA trained female would win over the boxing only trained male.

Is any of this even worthy of debate? Why do we even have to address this stupidity? At some point logic and facts hit the brick wall of modern leftism. Scaring them, ignoring them, triggering them; these are all probably more productive than debating them. If we are at the point where there is an issue about the fairness of women who take male hormones fighting against trannies, the time for debate is long gone. The degeneracy is too advanced for debate.
