My political BS sense tells me this means Ryan is negotiating with House conservatives and actually offering to compromise with them so Reid is trying to foul that up.
It could mean something else but whatever Reid -ever- says one must ask “Why is he telling this lie?”
I agree. This makes me even more concerned about Ryan. I would also prefer that the person chosen is confident that he/she can do the job and actually wants it, not somebody pushed into it by special interests. Ryan does not want the job.

While the purpose of the Freedom Caucus is good, in practice they completely lack leadership. They cannot generate a true candidate, with apologies to Webster who would do fine, but is not the outspoken leader we need.
They collectively got suckered into Boehner’s current term, and many dismissed the weakness of the leadership team. Now, they’ll likely get suckered into this. Bottom line...when Pelosi and Reid and publicly endorsing, it’s either the sign of DC insider uniparty weakness, or they are talking positive to fool our good guys and then they’ll turn on him immediately with grannie off the cliff language 2 seconds after his term begins. Either way, they see it benefitting the Democrats.
Oh no....I can only conclude he’s “made Mafia”.

I’ve gotta admit...the Dems are SOOO much better at politics than the Repubs are. Harry just KNOWS this will stir up the base, so he gives his thumbs up to it, knowing it will cause more strife.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think the Dems are the majority in both the House and Senate with the way they’ve played this.

Good grief man: they’re outnumbered 200 to 40 in the caucus!
I can’t say how well they’re doing until we see the results, but it seems to me if they get the great majority of what they’re demanding in process and policy changes they’ve done very well.
Barack and Nancy would like to see him as the new ballless House Leader.
I am so sick of this and so discouraged. They refuse to back off and have enough RINOs to make it happen. Very sad.
Reid’s just muddying the waters, he doesn’t support Ryan. Wake me when something like *this* happens:

He is mocking the Gop base because he knows Ryan will ram thru Amnesty and 2016 will see the Dems take back
