Donald Trump and Ben Carson now stand alone at the top of the Republican field, as Carly Fiorina's brief foray into the top tier of candidates seeking the GOP nomination for president appears to have ended, a new CNN/ORC poll finds.

Fiorina has lost 11 points in the last month, declining from 15% support and second place to 4% and a tie for seventh place.

At the same time, Carson has gained eight points and joins Trump as the only two candidates with support above 20%.

But the RNC and Megyn Kelly told me I was the one to take down Trump.

Carson started climbing after he said that Muslims should not be allowed to be president. Maybe Fiorina should try that?

Oh good grief. Why do we Freepers even trust such polls.

CNN and lib commies don’t think our side would elect Carson, so they are I’m sure leading the poll questions when on the phone. Also, they don’t believe Trump can win even if they say they do; they are THAT arrogant. So they’re fine with his polling. Carly is a woman so they fear her being the first woman president with an (R) next to her name (even if she is a rino to us); lastly, Cruz scares them the most. First Hispanic president (oh, even if he is white hispanic to them) and - remember, folks like me hang up on pollsters due to lack of trust. I’m not the only one.

The polls are bunk.

Be sure to quote and ping everyone else posting polling data, and not just me. We can’t just say, “the polls are bunk” when it doesn’t reflect our view....but I generally agree about polling. It is just a small indicator. However, the establishment, and those in D.C do live and die by these things, and big donor money comes and goes based on it. Those are facts.

So, polling has its place.

Good for you. However, I live in New Hampshire and get polled often. I sometimes do answer them if I have the time...or hang up, depending.

I think Cruz is running an old-fashioned campaign. He needs to do more media, including social media.

Trump is on about a dozen news/talk shows a week and he's constantly taking the tough questions. But I hardly ever see Cruz. The other day, Trump personally put out 70 Tweets within 24 hours. Now some might scoff at Twitter but Trump is now able to reach millions of people and completely bypass the mainstream media.

Cruz is running a campaign better suited for 1988. Trump is clearly running a 21st Century campaign.

Just an observation.

Unless it’s your candidate that is in the lead?

Yes, it’s one indicator, of several, that the candidate’s message is resonating, or not, with the public. We may not like the message, or the poll results, and it can be skewed by pollsters, but it IS an indicator. Should we put all our eggs in the poll basket? No. But should we ignore TRENDS, vs. outliers? At the candidate’s own peril. If a candidate is polling consistently in single digits and not getting any traction, it’s time to look for another strategy to get their message out, IMHO.

I stopped paying attention to polls years ago. I look at them now as amusement and fodder for those in the media to hump ratings. But some can be easily be manipulated by them.

Ted just isn’t getting the traction. I am hoping Trump offers him Attorney General as he will be kick azz in that position.

And an astute observation at that. :-)
