Frankly, I don’t give much credence to that, though the quote may be precise. Useful idiots at the time, to be dealt with “later” more likely.

In any case, old Adolf wouldn’t have put up with the Turkish shenanigans in Germany, unlike more recent politicians long preceding Merkel. She’s just gone “all in” with a pair of deuces. Crazy stupid.
