We can end welfare through much easier ways than barbarity.

How? Give us your plan. I'm all ears.

I would not force anyone to be sterilized, although I might like the idea of having long-term birth control (including sterilization) be free for all people taking welfare -- combined with NO increase in benefit, of any sort, for any additional kid, once welfare benefits commence for the first one.

I'm just losing interest in paying to feed a baby-mama's 12 kids (each by a different father) who will likely NOT grow up to be the next Thomas Edison.

Because you are ignorant of what eugenics is. Eugenics is about selective reproduction or preventing reproduction to promote desired traits.

There has been a long-standing argument about whether genetics or environment/education play the more dominant role in whether a person will become an asset to society.

The position of the Marxists is that genetics plays no role at all, and that with the application of the correct principles of child-rearing and education, they can produce a New Soviet Man.

The position of other groups is that, to a greater or lesser degree, genetics plays a significant role. To the degree that genetics plays a significant role, then society can be made more prosperous by encouraging the successful to have more children, and discouraging the unsuccessful.

The Great Society programs, from the 1960's to today, have been busy providing the underclass with incentives to have more children. We HAVE BEEN engaging in a eugenics program for the last 50 years, a reverse-eugenics program. I just think we should end it.

No, you want to MANDATE STERILIZATION of certain groups.

Wow, I think you need to get back on your meds...and get back on them quickly. I said no such thing about mandatory sterilization.

Once we cross the line where it is agreed, even in principle, that the government can decide who can and cannot reproduce, we have opened the door to unimaginable evil.

Is the government deciding who can and cannot get welfare and how much welfare they can get opening the door to unimaginable evil?

We are not at a point of getting anything to work, but coerced sterilization is not something acceptable in a free country.

The plan is abolition of taxpayer-funded welfare for unwed mothers, abolition of no-fault divorce, and repeal of laws destructive of traditional marriage.

Can we get there? With the mentality that American people are some kind of cattle that can be sterilized or bred by government fiat, — we never will.
