Yeah, right! THAT explains why Congress has such a miserable public approval rating, why 60-plus percent of Republicans feel betrayed by the GOP and why Ted Cruz is leading ALL party "leaders" in national polling. Dude, you're obviously WAYYYY smarter than the rest of us!
So trying to get our Congress to function as elected is labeled as a false hope now?
Cruz promised to do everything in his power to stop Obama. He has done exactly that.
Best vote I ever cast!
So Tom, you are saying there are too many RINOs to mount an effective opposition the dems?
In this, Coburn’s farewell interview before he left the Senate last December, he said some things you may never have heard a conservative Republican say about this president of the United States.
Tom Coburn: My relationship with Barack Obama isn’t based on my political philosophy or his.
Lesley Stahl: What’s it based on?
Tom Coburn: It’s based on the fact that I think he’s a genuinely very smart, nice guy. I just love him as a man. I think he’s a neat man. You don’t have to be the same to be friends. Matter of fact, the interesting friendships are the ones that are divergent.

CRUZ shines the bright light of freedom in the U.S. Senate. Hopefully others will take his lead and shine too.
Well, Coburn, the alternative is that we simply believe you Republicans will NEVER do what we want you to do, so we can just stop voting for you.
Would you like that better?
What is the “false hope”? That we can find a way to force Congress to spend within its means? If that is a false hope, then we really are doomed.
Apparently Senator Coburn supports those who make campaign promises to get elected and then do nothing to keep them. This is the same Tom Coburn that was constantly pointing out the ridiculous ways our tax money was being spent despite his part in the removal of Speaker Gingrich so the Republican controlled House could get down to the business of uncontrolled spending.
The Coburn effect.
“By dinghy?” Who the hell talks like that? Coburn, shove it. You are why the Congress and the GOPe in particular is held in such low regard by the American people. Just STFU and go away.
I’ve met Senator Coburn many times in his commutes to and from Tulsa / Dallas.
He is a serious man with strong fiscal views but Tom is snowblinding by Senate / Political Decorum. His constituent services were first rate.
On many occasions I expressed serious misgivings about Obama’s true allegiances and motivations based on his actions.
Tom’s eyes just glazed over like I was a crazy man. Despite his fiscal conservatism Tom Coburn is an Establishment Republican heavily vested in the status quo.
“And, so what happens is, there becomes less confidence in the Congress and its ability to do its job.”
CORRECT, because you are a bunch of quisling rat bastards, which is why there was such a HUGE and Overwhelming number of Regular Americans sent to CONGRESS, to replace all you treasonous bastards.
Coburn has lost his mind... spending time in congress does something to the brain... they join the club and everything goes haywire.
Cruz did not join that club.

Coburn is a great man of impeccable integrity. But for a variety of reasons, he is lined up on the wrong side of the divide in the Republican Party.
His judgment is simply wrong on how we move forward toward a Conservative coalition. Problem is that his reputation and credibility in Oklahoma are sufficient to turn elections and we need to start developing the ability to overcome that now.
The Conservative was leading and would have won the election to replace Tom in the Senate--Coburn reversed the result by endorsing the more liberal candidate.
His House District which runs the entire North South border of the state on the East side is represented by a Liberal, Markwayne Mullen who should have been replaced in the last election.
In 2010 and again in 2014, the people of the United States voted overwhelmingly for a conservative change of direction and got nothing. The Republican proceeded to nominate another Liberal for President in 2014 and Republican Leadership continued to run legislation to the left, supporting Democrat priorities.
Yes, it is difficult for Cruz to establish a voting Republican majority in Congress--but his efforts are highlighting the fact that about half of the so called Republicans in Congress are Liberals whose views line up pretty well with the Democratic mainstream--in order to change the direction, we need to replace Liberal Republicans with Conservatives.
The people of the Second Congressional district in Oklahoma who are Conservative need to wake up to the fact that their member of Congress, Markwayne Mullen, is a Liberal and throw him out and replace him with a Conservative. Right now they don't have a candidate and they need to be encouraged to find one.
Senator Coburn, please feel free to show us where Ted Cruz ever said that. We'll wait.
At least the liberals are honest about their intentions. I utterly loath these lying RINOs.
