What they'll do after they pull you over and charge you with a misdemeanor is impound your "improperly tagged" car. After paying the various fines associated with towing and storage, they won't let you drive it off the impound lot without a legal license plate.
When you surrender the plates you paid for and are no longer using, you get a refund, right?

Yep. That plate is not really motorist property. It’s not like anyone had these decorated plates even 40 years ago. I’d send it back and put a big fat confederate flag on the vehicle. If they come after you then, then you would have a case.

I have family in Virginia (siblings), and I have state-issued (Mississsippi) Sons Of Confederate Veterans plate on my car, with the state flag, the Confederate flag, and all. Guess I won’t be driving to Virginia anytime soon.

First, It was not so much a North verses South conflict, but a Democrats verses everyone else conflict. The “North” had Democrats (copperheads) that wanted to keep slaves as well, but just didn’t like the disunion of the nation.
Second: Democrats had almost total control of all three branches of the federal government from President Jackson onward, and then TOTALLY controlled them to 1860. Then they decided to take their marbles and have a hissy fit when Lincoln became President. They decided that they would secede if Lincoln became President after his “House Divided” speech, in which he stated, “I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.” The speech was seen by all Democrats as an abolitionist’s speech.
The point is, the Southern culture has changed from being the slave Democrats of old to its new culture of being one of a Christian conservative culture, one that believes in Biblical principles as most (if not all) of the Founding fathers had. IT HAS BEEN AND NOW IS THE DEMOCRATS AND THEIR PARTY THAT HAVE CARRIED ON THE CULTURE OF SLAVERY EVEN TILL TODAY WITH THEIR IDEA OF HAVING EVERYONE UNDER SOCIALISM!

When my military retiree husband died I was greeted in the OPM office by three of them. I knew immediately, upon walking in the door, that they were not going to take care of business, because I am white. And sure nuff.......
