The report says that Carson initially declined the protection bu the Service approached him with intel that showed threats were extreme and very possible.
Donald Trump’s repeated requests were likely a factor. I am sure the Service was more than willing to provide protection but Obama’s people were holding back. The intel about Carson likely caused Obama’s people to finally authorize the protection.
Secret Service to Donald Trump is probably viewed as a plum assignment with longterm consequences and benefits. I am sure he is getting the best and if not Eric Trump will make sure he’s getting the best.
Trump will now get the secret service vote. Trump will win them over one step closer to the presidency. It is amazing to me how Trump is getting the media and Obama to knuckle under as time goes on. Truly amazing.
I guess if Trump or Carson were assassinated as a result of no ss protection, the democrats would be crushed and could forget having a chance at the presidency. Imagine the headlines. Trump killed because Obama denied ss protection. Was it intentional? That would be a scandal that could not be overcome.
As of right now Trump’s twitter account is going up by 50,000 subscribers per day. No media outlet can even dream of this kind circulation. The point is that Trump is trending really, really big meaning that a lot of voters would be very upset if any intentional harm came to him.

The lack of security at the Norcross rally last Sat was frightening. I noticed it as soon as we walked in. We could not not believe it. I told Mr. GG2 I just hope the Donald is wearing a vest. No metal detectors. A few uniformed cops in the back and a few stationed in front of the stage. When Trump came out the side door to get in his SUV people were all around him. He was shaking hands and signing autographs. People mobbed his car as he started to drive away and he had his window down and some protester actually threw something in the window. We were appalled by the whole thing.
