IIRC, Cecil the Lion was used to divert attention from the murder of US citizen Kate Steinle by an illegal.
I may have my events confused, but it was clear the MSM was using Cecil to distract from something that was not good for the agenda/narrative.

That is one of the whole points of getting a trophy catch.
The opportunity to see that beautiful animal close up. WoW, when do you get to see such a thing? And like we already knew the media witch hunt is yawn, expected.

You make a valid point. But this is how we lose the culture war. The left has taken over the media, the educational system, and most of the popular culture. They work to impose their views by shaming, delegitimizing, and legislating.
Once we cede the public display of our beliefs to them out of fear, we have started the slide to defeat.
But what about “Wally” the elephant?
