I live not too far from their HQ and I’m between gigs (IT guy) I was hoping to get onboard with them, but this article highlights that that’s probably a major challenge.

The 2015 national building code was updated to REQUIRE sprinklers be installed in every new and ‘substantially improved’ house (dwelling unit, in their parlance). This only carries the force of law when governmental units adopt it, but many (perhaps most) do.
It wasn’t done through a carefully thought out cost-benefit analysis (i.e., if you drive up the cost of residential housing, then people will tend to stay in their old, non-upgraded, houses longer...which has its own real risks, starting with old wiring (some of it even uninsulated) that can light up and shock people.
It was done by a little clause in their bylaws (the clowns that publish the code) that makes fire chiefs AUTOMATIC voting members. Seems the fire chiefs were sick of the political process and cost-benefit analysis and simply wanted the sprinklers. So 1000 or so of them showed up at a meeting a few years ago, got their vote on sprinklers, won their vote, and then they all got up and left.
No one to blame other than their bylaws. The NRA needs to check for stuff like that. Are retired Congressmen automatic voting members? Anyone else?
The other technique is how they infiltrated most of society - they act pleasant, do the dirty work as required, and climb, and climb, and then once at the top - BANG! their baby-boomer pre-programming goes off and they go full Socialist (Merkel in Germany with the invaders is a perfect example). That’s how we lost control of foundations sitting on billions of dollars, not to mention education, even churches.
SO WATCH OUT - and don’t take this lightly, they are probably trying it with NRA even as I type.

This is the same ‘plan’ Michael Moore (aka Lumpy Riefenstahl) presented 8 or 12 years ago, have millions of libs join the NRA and elect liberal leadership.
They have successfully taken over American-American organizations and institutions wholesale. They will be successful with the NRA sooner or later if they put their minds and resources to doing it.
Jabba was an honest businessman ... that other thing is a petty tyrant, living off ill-gotten gains.
I’ll let them get some experience before I invite them to a south TX dove hunt with Dick.
