Big deal. What will the second Democrat debate bring after this snooze fest?

Hollywood Reporter reported earlier it was 9.3 million.

Yet, it was STILL more than 9 million less than who watched the last republican debate.

I doubt these numbers. Nielsen could be just as much in the bag for the dems as CNN et al.

LOVE IT !!!!~

There's been about 20% of the posts here today remarking about the D debate last night, and those 20% or so are tagged with ... but Trump did better ... was better .... had better numbers ... etc., etc.

The dems can't get any traction without invoking Donald Trump

I was on Twitter with Trump last night, and on here posting what he was saying...there were a lot of people on Twitter tweeting and it was fun...

Trump got more excitement than the Socialist Party of the U.S. formally known as the DNC.....

I was running through the channels in my motel room, since I don’t have cable at home, and I thought it WAS the walking dead.

Trump tweeting it likely brought in several million.

RE: Democratic Debate Clocks Record 15.3M

Many folks at FR underestimate the support the Dems have.

Some here were predicting a mere 3 million viewers.

How many of those viewers were only watching so they could follow Trump’s live tweets on twitter? Trump announced he would be live tweeting the debate and over 60,000 people subscribed to his twitter channel during the course of the debate.

debate drew “a higher number than the season premiere of The Walking Dead.”

Most people probably could not tell the difference.

Trump should probably get credit for several million of those viewers. The interest his candidacy has stirred in the primaries probably had some spillover of viewers to the Dims, people who normally would not watch a Republican debate, let along a Dim debate.

He’s just heightened the interest in the primaries in general, both from those who support him and those who dislike him.

I bet half of those viewers were people gathering information for blogs and small articles and the like.

Trump announced he would live-tweet the debate. I have a sinking suspicion that is what drove the ratings. It’s still 9 million people less than the Republican debates, by the way.

15.3 million democrats tuned in? UNPossible! Democrats aren’t smart enough to count above 10, so how did they even find the channel?

Trump's Effect on Debate Viewership

It's nearly impossible to quantify some things in life.  Why people tune into debates is probably one of them.

What we do know for sure, is that the first Repubican debate this year set the record for the most watched debate in history.  24 million viewers tuned in.

No we've seen the Democrat debate viewship numbers, and they came in at 15.3 millon.  That is 46.25% less than the Republican debate.

One statistic that hasn't been mentioned much is this one.  The highest viewership in the 2011-12 debates was 5% of U. S. households.  The first Trump debate in 2015 was viewed in 16% of U. S. households.

People who try to tell you Trump won't do well against Democrats will have a tough time explaining how he just did do well against them.

He not only trippled the 2011-12 viewership of his own party, but came in at 156.9% over that of the Democrat viewership in this one.

Trump is a one man phenominon.  He pulls in 10, 20, and 30 thousand people at his apperances while others pull in 10, 20, and 30 hundreds.

It is reasoned to think he is the big draw this year.  Lucky for us, he agrees with our agenda.
