When House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy dropped out of the race for House Speaker, it opened it up to a new field of Republican Representatives being touted for the position.
Most of the media's attention has been on former Vice Presidential candidate and Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan. Ryan has even earned the endorsement of amnesty advocate Rep. Luis Gutierrez! Ryan's position on immigration is fairly straightforward; he supports work permits and legal status for illegal aliens and he supports massive increases in legal immigration.
NumbersUSA is not making endorsements on who the next House Speaker should be. And we know that you make decisions on a broad range of issues other than immigration. But we want you to know as much as possible about where each of the candidates and potential candidates stands on immigration issues.
Under each photo, you will see the overall Immigration-Reduction grade for This Congress and for the Representative's entire Career in Congress. I'm also noting how many actions were taken by each person in earning that grade.
The overall grade is based on actions in 9 categories. NumbersUSA President Roy Beck has requested that we show one of those grades -- "Unnecessary Worker Visas" -- because it "provides special insight into whether Representatives regard immigration policy as connected directly to the lives of American workers and how much commitment they have to the every-day struggles of regular working people."

Here's the NumbersUSA scoring of immigration issues of declared and rumored candidates for House Speaker. Webster (who has previously been backed by the Freedom Caucus) looks the best, and Blackburn and Flores have good records.
As Chmielenski notes, you have to scrutinize their votes on worker visas to see what their plans are for replacing American workers.
I suspect Lyin' Ryan's B- career grade is built upon a lot of show votes, but have not researched it. I do know that he is bosom buddies with Luis Gutiérrez (Commie, Puerto Rico), who has essentially endorsed Ryan for Speaker.

Ryan’s career grade is “D minus”, not B-! But he still is Lyin’ Ryan.
“Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL) CAREER GRADE (on 22 actions) — A+ THIS CONGRESS GRADE (on 7 actions) — A ‘Unnecessary Worker Visas’ CAREER Grade — A+ Rep. Webster’s Grade Card”
According to this it looks like Daniel Webster is the best choice.
Oops...I take it back...Ryan’s “career grade” is B- as you state...I looked at the wrong grade. It is likely based on fictitious, meaningless votes as you state.
Luis is the second best representative Mexico has in the U.S. Congress. Anyone he wants, the citizens do not want.
I saw Westmoreland in a room addressing us, using the line “jobs that Americans won’t do”. Immigration was never my number one issue, but that line is such an obvious lie that it is like fingernailson the chalkboard to me.
I’ve been saying that all along!
“I saw Westmoreland in a room addressing us, using the line jobs that Americans wont do.”
Scratch him. I’m tired of our immigration policy being set to please the multinational corporations and the Dims. It’s time to design it to benefit the citizenry, not empty out every third world hellhole by importing them here.
He dismantled the demo maching in the Florida Senate. The machine in the US Congress is much larger, but a sophisticated dismantling will have them howling.
And is guided by faith.
Ryan not only shouldn’t be the speaker - he doesn’t want the job and if one doesn’t want the job they’re likely not do a good job - but his views on illegals and immigrants poses a great threat to us than Assad.
I AM A retired engineer and IT pro. Its bunk that there are not enough STEM workers. We need to let our citizens get the jobs first. The fact is that H1b is just the Cheap labor express. They have kept Americans unemployed so that they could depress IT wages overall for almost 20 year.
Also, outsourcing jobs to India, Taiwan etc. has also hurt American IT workers and their families.
Its shameful that CEO’s have no Nationalistic feeling towards qualified Americans, just to keep more money for themselves.
Plus, Ryan is an intellectual lightweight, even Biden made mincemeat of him during their debate.
Bill Flores is my Congressman...I like him!

I agree. The multinationals and other big business entities ship as many jobs overseas as they can and, those they can’t ship away, import foreign replacement workers for employment here.
“Its shameful that CEOs have no Nationalistic feeling towards qualified Americans, just to keep more money for themselves.”
I agree wholeheartedly. 50 to 60 years ago businesses in this country were patriotic and pro-American. Now they will fire productive, hard-working American workers to replace them with imported cheap labor at the drop of a hat. In fact, they spend tens of millions of dollars lobbying to be able to do so. I am a big supporter of small businesses. However, to the extent Big Business/Chamber of Corruption takes positions antithetical to American citizens, I will oppose them as much as I oppose Big Government and Big Labor.
“Bill Flores is my Congressman...I like him!”
Glad to hear it. Maybe he’ll be the next Speaker.

Remember that these are immigration scores only. They do not tally economic issues, defense issues, budget issues, spending issues, tax issues, etc. It is strictly an immigration group.
