America is currently a rudderless ship and is taking on water.

During the Carter years, one OpEd writer said "The Ship of State is awash in a sea of fiat currency and the Captain is using the rudder as a paddle."

Deja Vu.

The Carter Years had a HUGE impact on me. I was 17 and just finishing up High School. No jobs. Lines for gasoline. My folks with an 18% Mortgage. We were lower middle class and had JUST moved up to a starter house in the ‘burbs from inner-city Milwaukee. We ate a LOT of Hamburger Helper and Mac-n-Cheese.

I joined the Army to pay for college as my folks couldn’t do that for me. I will NEVER give him props, but due to Carter I did what I had to do as a young person. With 0bama, the youngsters coming up now have even LESS to work with and even more ‘hope’lessness, IMHO. It’s been BRED INTO THEM.

Meh. We’ll survive this. I hope! :)
