Rising seas to displace millions of Americans if warming unchecked

Millions of people in the United States could be forced to abandon their homes if planet-warming emissions continue unabated through 2100, pushing global sea levels up by more than 14 feet (4.2 meters), researchers said.

In the United States, between 20 and 31 million people are living on land that would be submerged by rising oceans without aggressive cuts to greenhouse gas emissions, according to a study published on Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Predictions of severe coastal flooding have been part of the global warming scare narrative for years. In 2008, ABC News predicted that east coat cities like New York City would be under water by 2015.

Other predictions of massive flooding have been repeated over and over. This sounds like a taxpayer supported study.

These people never give up, even when they’re the butt of pretty much every weather joke in America.

Continue? It's been like 18 years of no warming.

Even if this were true, I don’t see the problem... That’s 85 years from now, and it that were the trend people wouldn’t buy in those areas and would have long moved...

”… through 2100, ..."

Misguided global warming activists have at least wised up to projecting times of PC global warming disasters that many of us will probably not live long enough to witness.

I am basically a skeptic but let’s say that sea levels did rise by fourteen feet in the next eight decades. That would be an average of less than two feet per decade. It would require building sea walls in some places, by an average of six inches every presidential term. Does that sound impossible? Remember, this is not around the whole country. There are lots of coastlines that have twenty feet to play with before anyone gets wet.

I think the smart option is not to obsess about things that can’t be changed, but to have a plan in place to build the necessary coastal defences. We should know how that would happen as we see the need for it. There won’t be one day where suddenly seas are fourteen feet higher than today.

So that’s what the smart political option lies — have a plan, execute it if or when necessary.

It’s a good thing we have such outstanding leadership on global warming, otherwise everybody is going to die.

You know that is actually a great idea.

I’m sure it would work——and show the hypocrisy.

Plus, if trends continue, those future people won’t be worth saving anyway.

That’s where, not what ... in the last sentence above.

By the way, a really smart plan would avoid sea walls around certain cities. You can guess which ones.

Hmmm....if the Leftists on the east and west coasts really believe this dire prediction from the infamously “97% of scientists,”, why aren’t they moving?

"This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal..."
