Technically I was always on duty so I carry everywhere. Kind of like now with CHL. I do not know that I would have left on principle but I probably would have letting them know that myself and every one I told about this would be going elsewhere, like Carrabba’s (better anyway).

My brother-in-law was contacted by the local community college to teach a couple of criminal justice classes in the evening hours a few years back at the last minute, literally a day before classes were to start as adjunct faculty and he told them with the way his schedule worked he would have to come straight from work and still be in uniform to make the set hours for the classes.

The campus administrator was fine with that except he told my BIL he could not bring his sidearm even on the campus parking lot even in uniform this was a gun free zone even to police officers off duty. My BIL said not a problem, you need to find someone else to teach your classes, if I am in uniform my sidearm stays on me period, and was concluding the phone call with good day and the administrator was babbling wait-wait-wait, you can carry, you can carry all of a sudden. The administrator never tried to stop him from carrying his sidearm again whenever he taught.
