It’s obvious the Iranians are “criminalizing” this hostage to make him more equivalent to Iranians held for cause in the U.S. and thus more “marketable”in a trade. Expect others held in Iran to face a similar process.

Does anybody remember that Kerry stated that it was “too complicated” to bring up the matter of the hostages during the Iran Nuke talks and when that got a bad reaction, later claimed they brought up the issue of the hostages at every Iran Nuke talk meeting?
