It is a pretty famous song subject to copyright abuse.
I don’t blame him for trying to protect it.
The truth of the matter is this: a copyright is only as good as its holder, and its holder's defense of the copyright.
If Tyler didn't defend the copyright to "Dream On" that would mean anyone would be able to use it anytime for any reason and NOT compensate Aerosmith for the song.
Copyright holders have to show defense of their work in order to maintain the copyright.
That's the law. Tyler's simply doing what he's supposed to do to defend the copyright.
It's nothing more than that.
