We should withdraw ALL military assets from SF, and never allow any to be there again. Let’s see how the Friscans like it when they are occupied by the Red Chinese Army. I, for one, would not live a finger to help or rescue the Friscans — but I’d unleash big time on the Chicoms the moment they went beyond SF’s borders.

I believe we have. The Presidio and Treasure Island were both closed years.
The city also changed the name of "Army Street" to "Cesar Chavez Street". The decision was as much to eliminate "Army" as it was to honor Chavez (other streets would have been a better choice and not as costly).
