In the coming days, construction will commence on a new church in Egypt dedicated to the martyred Coptic Christians beheaded by the Islamic State in Libya in February.
The new church, bearing the name “Church of the Libyan Martyrs,” will be built in the Minya Governorate, south of the capital, Cairo. The church will cost $1.3 million, half of which has already been raised.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi granted permission for the construction of the church last February after Islamic State militants murdered 21 Coptic Christians on a Libyan beach.
According to Father Rafic Greiche, spokesman for the Catholic Church in Egypt, the construction is indicative of a slow but noticeable shift taking place in Egyptian culture as well as among state officials. The change comprises improving attitudes toward Christians, but also resistance to Islamic extremism.

Please change that headline—makes it look like Egypt is building a monument to ISIS.
Just the opposite is true-—the Egyptian church will honor CHRISTIANS beheaded by ISIS savages.

They are Coptic Christian martyrs.

My first thoughts were, WHAT??? Egypt is doing this!
I hope the Egyptians use the strongest reinforced steel they can purchase or manufacture. I expect wacked out devotees to ISIS will make it their life’s work to destroy or at very least to disrupt the functions of this church, should it ever actually be built. Contact the United Kingdom about Closed Circuit Cameras, that run unmanned and around the clock. You will need them.

It will be an immediate target for every terrorist on the planer to send a message to all non muslims that any faith other than Islam will be met with death.
Hopefully more places build these and tell ISLAM to FOAD. The sad part is that Islam has killed enough people to warrant MANY such churches.
Do not be surprised if that church gets A LOT of high security.
It will have to. Soon ALL churches will have to.
Most will close their doors rather than confront Islam directly as history shows and thus Muslims win. Then they will buy the churches as they do now and turn them into Mosques in every neighborhood without ever having to fire a shot.
The ones that do stay open and confront Islam will be attacked legally and if unsuccessful, physically.
