Cruz: 'Volcanic frustration' burned Boehner, McCarthy

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said on Thursday that the House's splintering GOP leadership is feeling the “volcanic frustration” of everyday Americans.

“I think the reason we are seeing a change in leadership in the House is the American people are fed up,” the presidential candidate told host Jeff Kuhner on “The Kuhner Report” in Boston.

“When Speaker [John] Boehner stepped down, it wasn’t simply because he wanted to do something else,” Cruz said of the Ohio Republican, who announced his resignation last month. “It was because the volcanic frustration with Washington had spilled over to a point because we’re sick and tired of leadership that doesn’t stand and fight [President] Obama on anything,” he added.

Cruz’s remarks follow House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's (R-Calif.) shocking announcement earlier Thursday that he is no longer seeking the Speakership Boehner is vacating. McCarthy’s decision stunned lawmakers, given that he was widely considered the front-runner for filling the Ohio Republican's shoes at month’s end.

Cruz refused to comment on Thursday over the best option for Speaker following the majority leader's exit.

“I have very deliberately and consistently stayed out of House leadership elections,” he said.

He added: "It is my hope that what the Republican Conference does now is select a Speaker who will be a strong conservative.”

God Bless Ted Cruz!! He knows that the stubborn and vindictive McConnell has built a bulwark of just re-elected cronies, and will not budge in his hatred toward conservatism.

So Cruz has been helping to build a revolution in the House, to pressure McConnell from the other body.

I see at lot of Windmills associated to Sir Ted and his exploits...

Has he slain any real Dragons, or just the ones in his stories??

Inquiring minds you know, has he ever built a castle that can withstand all comers. impregnable to vice and bribery...

Waiting, this is all very informative, really...

Cruz would be a great speaker ... (until he can be appointed to the Supreme Court... Rules say it doesn’t have to be a House member...

This has been an amazing thing to watch. However, the Tea Party and Ted Cruz weren’t enough.

It took Trump bulldozing his way onto the scene to really get this going.

I firmly believe Trump never thought he would get this far. One comment in time could change the course of our nation. One blip on the radar..that turned everything upside down.

The Hispanic comment heard ‘round the world with a refusal to back down.

Simply amazing.

He fights and often alone. He fights while his fellow Republicans run away and cut deals with the Democrats surrendering everything and gaining nothing. We need to send him some help because you right he can’t do it all by himself.

No, perfection is unattainable by any human and so to measure someone against an impossible target

I ask that as we all should do is assess ourselves for that which we aspire to and take personal responsibility for our past mistakes and potential impact as a component of our lives and integrity, not just one time, consistently...

I will state that I want us to have a strong leader, a person of principles based on equal justice as based on our laws as framed and not defined by other elements of Government who have no damned business doing so!

Someone who can take and shake this “organizational structure” to its foundations until it implodes of its own bloated mass...

and we are the better for it, we have cast off a yoke we should never have allowed in the first place!

Trump is a undesired creation of the GOPe.

RINOs’ full embrace of illegal alien amnesty lawbreaking on behalf of the Chamber of Crony Capitalists to supply more workers to destroy Americans’ wages did it.

Actual voting Americans finally understand and are fed up with being knifed by their political leadership in both parties.

Trump is the GOPe’s just desserts.

Impregnable : Unable to be bought or influenced by others promising monetary or other gains

Vice : Comes from the heart and soul, if you have an internal acceptance of a “certain amount” of crime or crimes, it is by definition a Vice, something you hold onto or it you “like a vise”

Bribery - See note 1, Donald does not need them or anything of them and any attempts to do so would never make it past the first few minutes of the conversation

He can smell Bovine Scatology right out of the chute...
