There will be a National Moment of Silence today, October 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. ET in honor of the victims of the shooting at Umpqua Community College. Our college is joining Achieving the Dream staff and fellow network colleges by observing this pause in our daily activities. Our hope is to show the Umpqua community that we stand with them as they begin to find a way forward after the tragedy. If you are active on social media, please use the #IamUCC hashtag to convey your support.
I will spend my moment of silence praying an imprecatory prayer against those who would take our right to defend ourselves, and doing it in the name of the victims of this heinous murderer.
Rats. I can’t be at the range blasting away.
Maybe afterwards we can hear from Uncle Fred, the unarmed security guard responsible for their safety. Or from the gutless students who were too cowardly, too busy texting or calling 911 to get up and charge Mr. Nut Boy.
NOTE: It is rumored that in the Aurora Colorado theater shooting there were 6 concealed carry holders who did nothing to stop the other Nut Boy for fear of being charged or sued for the use of their weapon in a “no guns” zone.

If that is the case in Colorado, the ccw holders have not taken a Colorado legal class. I have been carrying 14 months, took one when I got my permit and 2 after I started carrying. They are fun, informative, teach how to be prepared for an active shooter and use of deadly force situation AND the aftermath. NO GUN SIGNS are not legally binding in Colorado except schools and federal property so they could not be charged because they didn’t break any law. This is the first I have heard of this. If true there could be other reasons. How many of us can practice in a dark smoke filled noisy range shooting downhill let alone with lots of panicked folks running around.

Oh, they take courses all right - but far too many of them from some “Uncle Fred” bottom feeder who spends most of his time telling war stories.
You get what you pay for...
Oh, I can do better than that: Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Yes, and God bless him for his bravery.
