Chaffetz’s record looks like the best. Maybe Webster is a distraction? And just as a side note, Avast Antivirus gave this warning: URL: http://www.quote-coyote.com/album/small/Stephen-King-Quotes.jpg Infection: URL:Mal

I have personally known and spoken with Dan Webster regarding several issues of significant importance.

Just reviewing a few notes here. I know him as a true Christina statesmen, small business owner, and highly literate/knowledgeable about economics and finance, and World and American History.

Since Reagan, he has been and remains a strong proponent of critical tort reform, the fundamental overhaul of our tax system (including the elimination of the IRS), and a strong proponent of a balanced budget amendment. He also has a great deal of angst with the Federal Reserve system. As well, he has long been for the elimination of the EPA, and a dozen other agencies.

Similarly, in my conversations, he has always identified the UN, World Court, IMF, and the World Bank as fundamental threats to our own sovereignty and the true sovereignty of individual Americans.

He very much views the principles necessary for our freedom, framed by the original signers of the Constitution, as the critical life-blood of our Constitutional Republic, and not the “living/breathing” version long advocated by those who have desired we be a pure “democracy” on the road to anarchy and in the least, Fabian serfdom.

He has also been a strong proponent of significantly stronger “states rights”.

On social issues, he has also accurately identified the entire LBGT agenda as having been rooted not in genetic science, but as deriving largely from an agenda of behavioral modification aimed at fundamentally destroying the family (which included abortion) and reorienting society toward moral relativism, in order to remove our will to be free and easily controlled.

While I don’t agree with him regarding DHS, we may be too far gone to deserve such an individual.

Always helps to have someone with personal knowledge speak up. Thanks for your comments. He sounds like a fine individual and a person who is greatly needed at this time.

Chaffetz was a Boehner henchman. He’s entrenched in the system. Webster his acceptable enough and independent from the establishment. Go Webster.

“Don’t sacrifice the good for the perfect.”

That’s what squishes were saying here the last few times when a moderate John Boehner wanted the job, and there was a Juan McCain and Rombot and ....
All we want is a conservative this time, not perfection or ‘just good enough’.
Welcome to FR. Now, go away and ponder your transgressions before returning.

Thanks for the personal info on Webster.

I will say this....I donated to Webster’s campaign (I’m in TX) and he sent me a HAND WRITTEN note, to personally thank me. I’ve remembered that, over the years.

I that that, too, but I heard him on Hannity, today (hmmm...he’s been on Hannity, a lot, lately) and he said something to the effect that if McCarthy doesn’t get the votes, it drops McCarthy out and then there will be another vote in three weeks, between the other two/others.

Who knows...I certainly don’t know how the House Rules work, on this.

At one time we lived in Daniel Webster’s FL House district. He was extremely conservative, especially socially conservative. His family even homeschooled their children. He was an excellent Speaker of the FL House who held strong control over the budget. But it’s been a while since he represented me. After running for the lunatic Alan Grayson’s US House seat and winning, he seemed to get a bit squishier.

But I believe he is a conservative at heart who holds and understands conservative principles. He may have become a little less conservative because the constituents in his US House district weren’t as conservative. Where someone like Marco Rubio is a liberal at heart who pretends to be conservative to get elected, Daniel Webster is not a money grabbing phony. It took him a long time to decide to give up his business and go back into politics to run against Grayson.

Louis Gohmert or Steve King themselves would probably be stronger conservatives, but knowing what I know about Webster and having Gohmert and Steve King support him, carry a lot of weight with me. Perhaps Daniel Webster is the best conservative we can get. Unlike some of others, I don’t believe he is a sell out.

“Shave (split) tail”: A newly broken-in mule, a second lieutenant or an FR Noobian princess like yourself.

I promised myself, after saying little or nothing in 2007 and 2011, that when GOP-e ‘Wormtongue’ plants were selling that “the perfect is the enemy of the good” BS, this time around I would say something.
So there it is. This go around the GOP reforms itself or we do it for them.

You are a very tough person. I’m still able to see the difference between common sense and silliness.

Goodnight, and in spite of your being rude to me, telling me to go away, I remember all the nice posters who welcomed me and meant it.
We need leaders to reform the GOP. Does anyone come to mind that fits that description?

Maybe that’s actually a GOOD thing....against McCarthy. Folks are SICK and TIRED of establishment types telling us who should be in charge, in DC....and, that includes Cheney.

My husband was in the same class with him at Georgia Tech

I believe he has represented Florida well.....
....-and we have been in Florida for many many moons!

My overall impression is he is one of the good guys......his conservative credentials read well.

I’m waiting for PETER King to weigh in on this debate. Whoever elicits the most vile, hate-filled diatribe from Peter King is my guy.
