You can tell a lot about someone by who their friends are, and who theyre not.
Interestingly enough for Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, he has more friends amongst Democrats. According to a new Public Policy Poll, just 14% of Republicans approve of the Kentucky Senator, compare that to 17% of Democrats who approve of the GOP Kentucky Senator. More Democrats approve of Mitch McConnell than Republicans. A whopping 64% of Republicans disapprove of him.
The poll is very reflective of McConnells continually spearheading conservative efforts in the Senate, and now even Democrats are taking notice.
It doesnt appear Republicans are taking the hint when seeking new leadership, though. Rep. Kevin McCarthyconsidered the leading candidate for House Speakercomes in with only 14% approval from his own party.
Will House Republicans learn their lesson tomorrow? Or will they continue fueling the schism between themselves and their voters?

OK, who in their right minds would call this a “SHOCK” poll?
He earned it.
He’s also more popular with tortoises.
In before the obligatory picture of Claude Rains.
Bush Sr. was pretty popular with Dems when he broke his No New Taxes Pledge. McCain was pretty popular with Dems when he was a constant thorn in the side of the Republican Party (back when it was remotely conservative).
Sickening.
I will always give McConnell credit for blocking the “defund the Iraq war” bills that the Dems were pushing in 2007 right as the surge was beginning, and actually got pretty close a few times to passing. If those passed, the problems we have now with ISIS would seem like childsplay.
That being said, it’s time for new leadership.
The turd-le should be taken to the woodshed and the ‘Rat beaten out of him ...
