No, No, No. No more gun laws and restrictions.
Even if sensible restrictions actually made sense, you can’t trust this effing Federal government and you can’t trust an antichrist like 0bama.
You can’t trust these guys to do anything but get rid of laws; there’s always a catch and any new law will be used against the people. For example, I do support the death penalty in certain circumstances, but not for this insane, evil and corrupt government.

No.
It is time for Federal Concealed Carry, Federal Castle Doctrine and Federal Stand Your Ground laws.
I don’t like having to go to the Feds for rights that are granted by God, but it would be a small improvement over the current situation.
Crime should be very dangerous for criminals.

Problem is, if we pre-screened journalists for ignorant comments &/or political bias, there wouldn't be many journalists left in this day & age. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Sensible Background Checks?
Let’s start with Barack Obama.

the left is so hell bent on infringing on the 2nd amendment but suggest infringing on the 1st amendment, why now you go to far! Not that I would, just saying.

Judging by some of the comments in this thread, a lot of people don’t read the article before they post.
I saw the headline and the author, and sighed...then I read it.

No, it is time to identify and remove from the streets all of these pychos.
Thirty years ago there were 500,000 in psychiatric institutions or hospitals, today there are 50,000. Where are the remaining - on your streets. (figures from a yesterday internet post)

There is no sensible background check. Any background check relies on data input into a system. This data is easily corrupted by mistakes, time delays, system breakdowns, and especially our privacy laws which deter entering derogatory information about a person for fear of legal recourse.
As an earlier article pointed out, there are no background checks or laws that will stop criminal activity. The only sensible response that will hold water is an armed citizenry. Criminals are bold because the odds are in their favor that potential victims are unarmed. Take away guns and I predict our violent crimes will rise as did Australia’s.

When I was in college, I took a course titled, Lying With Statistics. Our textbook was a book entitled, How To Lie With Statistics" by David Hull. The course showed us how by using the same numbers and statistics, one could easily come to many differing conclusions, depending on what outcomes you wanted to arrive at.
To this day, I hold little regard for a poll or a study's results reported in the press until I can ascertain who the authors are. Their agenda will tell you where they are coming from and how accurate their rendering of the numbers is.

It’s right there in the Bill Of Rights:
A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, as long as they pass a back ground check.

Since it's impossible to tell what a person is going to do in the future, we can only look at his past.
And background checks already do that.

Time for Sensible Background ChecksDefine 'sensible'.
It took over 10 days for me to be 'approved' worthy enough to exercise my 2nd amendment right to by a rifle a few months ago.
