The new company will make about one third of all the swill consumed on the planet!

Here’s hoping this will not fly. (I have a bee in my bonnet regarding AB InBev’s destruction of the Beck’s brand).

The swill distributors are joining forces. Anyone who thinks Bud and Miller are real beers needs to sample real german beer.

As a rule, I avoid ConglomoBeer. I'll even go so far as to order some atrociously named* "Belgian Ale" produced by some local hole-in-the-wall operation and suppress my gag reflex as I wonder how anyone had the nerve to think it was worth marketing (or drinking). Anything to avoid "InBev."

Mr. niteowl77

*The dormitory-quality wit and cleverness of names like "Naked Blonde Chick Ass-Kicking Ale" or "Satan's Dog Drool Extra Dark Hefeweizen" doesn't encourage my custom.

I had heard ABInBev and Bisquick were going to merge and offer a product called Pissquick.

Budweiser and Miller? That would create a spawn like Rosie and Michael Moore.

Will that fly under anti-trust? InBev and Miller together would probably control 85% of restaurant taps.

Combining those two brands immediately made think of crossing urine streams at the urinal-trough at the old baseball stadium

Seems like this is going to raise some anti-trust issues in the US. Worldwide, it’s otherwise a pretty good fit.

I would expect (unless proper consideration is paid to the Democans and Republicrat) some breweries and brands to be divested in the US.

I’m a native rocky mountain boy and I don’t drink anything but Coors, so it won’t affect me. I can’t stand that Ferguson pee water anyway!

So now if they chime in with some Liberal cause and I have to boycott them my alternatives will be Iron City and Genesee?

Swell.

needs to sample real german beer.

That wouldn't include Becks, Lowenbrau, Diebels, Franziskaner, Gilde, Spaten, St. Pauli, Hasseroder, Stella Artois (InBev). Looks like SAB is stronger in Poland.

I always like Ginny (or was it Ginnie) Cream.

Down here, the best bets is Shiner Bock.

Indeed. Bud and Miller are malt beverages. Not beer.

Actually, my palate puts Czech beer over German beer any day.

Beck was a great beer and so was Dortmuner Union.

I miss them both.

I’ve never tasted alcohol, so just observing here.

The consensus is that AB InBev and Miller are awful beers, but together they rule the vast majority of the world market.

Somebody’s drinking it.
