I’ve been pointing this out for a couple of months now. It’s frustrating that nobody is talking about 20th non-republican support he has. Its why I think he’ll win if he wins the nomination. And I don’t see that as a good thing. He’s no conservative.

“And I don’t see that as a good thing. He’s no conservative.”

I don’t see any conservatives actually being one. I don’t see any conservatives representing America and Americans!

A Conservative is not going to win in this cycle IMHO.

The brand has been too badly tarnished by the onslaught of Democrat attacks which received NO pushback from the likes of George W. or Boehner.

Also tarnished by two-plus decades of the Chamber of Commerce and other crony-types pursuing their own financial self-interests above and beyond anything that was good for the country. Fairly or not, they are linked in the public’s mind to “conservatives”.

In a country that was trending to the right, a guy like Bernie Sanders would not be drawing these huge crowds. We are clearly now swimming against the tide.

It is clear this race is going to be won by a Populist. A Populist like Trump who leans to the right is likely the best we can hope for. Otherwise get ready for Bernie or the Fake Indian.

I’m tired of so-called conservatives who ‘talk the talk’ to get elected then get to DC and do NOTHING.

If the definition of a conservative is the equivalent of a second year college student reading off a focus tested list of things conservatives believe - then I’m outta here...

Trump says he’ll build a wall. I believe he’s capable of doing that...

Trump says he’ll stop illegals. I believe he can do that.

Trump says he’ll make better trade deals. I believe he has the skills to do that.

Trump says he’ll protect the vets and make sure they get the medical care they deserve. He knows how to make companies work - he has the skills to do this.

Trump says he’ll protect our Second Ammendment Rights. I believe him.

Trump says he’ll protect Social Security for people who have work their whole lives and contributed to the system. He will do this...

So I don’t really care if he’s a ‘text book’ conservative who can mouth the Republican mantra. If he’s not a ‘true conservative’ - fine. Don’t care. If he stops illegals and protects our borders he can run under any banner he wants to...

"He’s no conservative."

Honestly? The way defining labels are being constantly redefined, I don't know what the definition of "a conservative" is nowadays or if "The Official Definition" is the same definition from one person to the next.

Trump, whatever he is, is right about a lot of things, but especially so about the impact he's had on the republicans and the nation's overall interest thanks to his being in the race.

Fascinating to watch as an observer, but probably not much fun for those in the game, which is one of the reasons it's so fascinating to watch!

“He’s no conservative.”

We need someone who will stand up to liberal forces that are destroying the country, and quickly so.

So far, Trump is the one who is doing that. You can’t name anyone else that is.

I’m sick to death of a lot of you Cruz supporters who keep regurgitating - he’s no conservative. Now, Cruz is my 2nd choice and my choice for VP. But, apparently, Trump is conservative enough to be Cruz’s friend - and for me - Trump is enough conservative to pass the smell test. He’s certainly more conservative than the majority of those running. I don’t think Cruz is going to have a crossover effect - in fact, I know he isn’t and we need this election. So, please stop spewing the “he’s no conservative” mantra - it’s tiresome and totally untrue.

Similar things were said about Reagan, and he had his Reagan Democrats.

Trump isn’t perfect, but he’s the best we got with a shot of winning. I like Cruz, but I don’t know if he can get to the lead.

Other than Cruz he’s got the most conservative platform in the race so far.

So tell us which candidate meets your standards of conservatism, and what his current poll numbers are?

I'll settle for "pro-America" right now.

I have no doubt that if Trump gets the GOP nomination he will win the general election in a landslide. Is he the most conservative GOP candidate no but he’s conservative enough. No other GOP candidate has a chance of winning against’ a ticket like Biden/Warren which I believe will happen. If we don’t get Trump in the Whitehouse this country will quickly devolve into CWII. We are almost there now.

There are a significant number of people who are trying to decide between Trump and Sanders. People are mad, they somehow see Sanders as an outsider (amazing, since Sanders is the ultimate big-talker, non-doer in Congress, never introduced a major bill in all his long years in the Senate).
