"They're blinded by love and it takes some convincing sometimes to realize that they're being duped," Chris Grey of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command said.
The Army has found hundreds of instances of people posing as military members online, asking for money and getting it, scamming victims out of more than $82 million last year alone.

If anyone is stupid enough to fall for this scam, as far as I am concerned, they earned it through their stupidity.

Somebody stole my Army pics and created fake profiles on Facebook and (I guess) dating websites.
I got emails from several women from all over the world wondering why I stopped writing them. All of these women had sent money to the fake guy.
There are probably still fake profiles with my pics on Facebook, but I haven't checked lately.
