They get it wrong off the bat. Trump has more real political experience than most politicians in the US, who are largely constrained by Wash. DC rules. Trump is worldwide...the writers know this and are just trying to conduct agitprop. It is not fair nor balanced...whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean!

I would say it's more connection with what is agitating a large number of GOP voters. The politicians, for the most part, have no clue how livid many of the GOP base is at their lack of spine and/or candor over the decades when it comes to immigration policy. Mix in with that their collective cower to the media - historically - whenever they misspeak or say something that comes out wrong. Trump doesn't apologize, he clarifies sometimes if he thinks he needs to but then says in so many words, I don't really give a damn anyway. I think that is what I like most about him -- he plays the media like a piano. If he wanted to get his message out about any topic, at any time, in any venue, to hundreds of millions of people, is there any doubt he could? The media lapdogs would be falling all over themselves to hand him a microphone, put a camera on him, and let him speak as long as he wants. It is truly amazing. I chuckle every time I think about his manipulation of them, and the simultaneous irony of it all: the man who can most afford to pay for his own media coverage, is the one who doesn't have to. Meanwhile, all the air is sucked out of the room for everyone else.

I don't think so. I think they, too, are fascinated by his performance. They don't agree with many of his policies and statements, but they do respect his connection and ability to dominate the conversation.

In the end, those two attributes are perhaps two of the most politically powerful, so maybe you are right when you say he really has more political experience. I might add "savvy"
