Reminds of the time in the late 1800’s, when a South Asian Indian convert was attacked by some Hindus. They had tortured and killed his wife and 2 sons in front of him and they gave him one more chance before they killed him too. He said, “I have decided to follow Jesus, there is no turning back”. Hence where we get that beautiful hymn.
They weren’t Hindus. They were tribal people.
