Senator McCain spent his post-POW years in the Navy as a liaison officer with Congress, which meant selling them on the Navy’s wish list of defense contractor products.
Then John McCain retired right into his own House and Senate career no doubt with defense contractor $$$$$ backing him up.
Senator McCain moved into key positions on committees that oversaw media regulation rising to chairman or ranking Republican if the Democrats ran the Senate.
McCain’s involvement on those committees gave him media company $$$$$ campaign money and good news media coverage.
His daughter now has a nightly radio talk show courtesy of I Heart Media.
