An Army veteran was shot seven times while trying to save other students during the deadly Oregon community college rampage, according to his aunt.
Chris Mintz "tried to protect some people," his aunt Sheila Brown told NBC News in a telephone interview. "We were told he did heroic things to protect some people."
She said that Mintz was shot seven times and had been in surgery since the shooting that left 10 dead, including the gunman.

I believe the article.
I also believe Donald is way too smart to be sidelined by a bunch of politicians.
He’s doing to find a way.
As he often says in his speeches, ‘none of these other guys can do this, I’m the only one’.
Everyone here in Roseburg should be thankful for having Chris Mintz in our community. He will remain in our hearts. I’m still sleepless, trying to process what has happened and how it will affect our community and, of course, my granddaughter who is just two.
God bless Chris and his family!
Prayers up for this hero...
I’ve got nothing....what a true hero.
“We were told he did heroic things to protect some people.”
The most heroic thing anyone can do at this time is to
ignore the gunfree zones and carry anyway.
Prayers for an American hero and his family, who, once again, looked Real Evil in the face.
I continue to conceal carry into the office.
A big 10-4 on that!
Amazing...
If he took 7 bullets, he almost certainly saved lives that would have been struck by those bullets.
It also suggests that the shooter was using 9mm - or a .22, which I doubt.
I've decided, and been practicing for a year or so now, to CC everywhere it is not actually against the law. In my state, a mere sign "no weapons" or "no firearms" carries no legal force. It is virtually identical to "no shoes, no shirt no service." If you get "found" in such an establishment shirtless, staff *can* ask you to leave, at which point if you do not, then you are trespassing and can be arrested. Here it is the same thing with firearms and such signs. If you are discovered carrying in the establishment they may ask you to leave for violating policy, at which time you must leave/comply (eg. put weapon in car).
I've decided that my safety, the safety of my family, friends, and even the strangers around me, is more important than any potential embarrassment at being asked to leave. I carry. I believe I'm fairly good at it and have rarely, if ever been "made". I've been doing it for years and read all the dos and don'ts, etc. The only way anyone will know I'm carrying is if I have to draw and use my weapon. In that case they are probably going to be damn glad I have it.
If they, I carry two at all times, are concealed, how do they know, anyway!
The only place I do not carry is the court house because it has a metal detector. Even our state capital allows for CHL holders to enter the building. I carry everywhere. Concealed is the key word here. Even if I see proper signage that says do not carry I ignore it. Better judged by 12 than carried by 6.
Or damn sorry, as the case may be.
God bless this great hero!
That sign is sure to stop a bad guy.
My wife was doing battle on Facebook last night. I told her to ask the gun-free-zone people if they were willing to put a “Gun Free Zone” sign on their front door, and if not, why not?
