Just thought it interesting, and potentially very important for those living on the east coast, to point out how different the predicted path for this major hurricane is between these two major weather sources (Weather Channel and AccuWeather), at least as of the moment: Fri, Oct 02, 2015 @ 5:30AM EDT. AccuWeather appears to have it *several hundred miles* more west than does The Weather Channel. Perhaps the predictions are based on different computer models.
The first map below is from AccuWeather. The second, The Weather Channel.
As far as I’m concerned, they’re both pretty much worthless.
They WANT this storm to hit and ruin New England and NY so they have something to talk about other than Trump, Hillary, ISIS, etc. The want Odumbass to be able to go out an promise federal funds to the masses for repairs, food ,etc. The storm brings the potential for massive govt control and they are craving it.
at 8pm tonight i’m out of newark to nevada and I wish my family and friends good luck!!!
been worried all week about the weather today. Might be delays, but no cancels.
Might be a little bumpy until cruising altitude after takeoff, getting some gusts here in NC this morning.
yikes. seat belt on, prayer book out!!
Doubt it’ll be that bad, just a little bumpy. Most of the models show it headed out to sea this morning, won’t be all that close until Monday one way or the other.
Joe Bastardi from Weatherbell.com made the call Thursday morning that the hurricane would miss the east coast. That’s all I need.
Both the Weather Channel and AccuWeather push the man-made global warming BS. Meanwhile, the Weather Channel was founded by a guy who didn’t believe in it. And AccuWeather has on its staff, meteorologist, global warming skeptic, Joe Bastardi, who frequently appears on FoxNews’ Sean Hannity’s TV and radio shows.

From Wiki...
Bastardi is an outspoken contrarian regarding human-induced global warming.[13][14] His views are sharply at odds with analyses by working scientists in the field.[15][16]
Bastardi has asserted that the world was likely warmer in the 1930s than today, as well as stating that human contribution of carbon dioxide is too small to have any effect, and warming is caused by sun spots and exchange with warmer oceans.[17]
He frequently argues in his columns that extreme weather events occur naturally and that there is not enough evidence to state that such events are unusual.[18]
Bastardi has stated he believes that over the next 30 years, the global average temperature will return to levels seen in the late 1970s due to a so-called “triple-crown of cooling” comprising oceanic temperature cycles, solar radiation cycles, and volcanism.[13]

You have my sympathy for flying out of Newark
Done that
Newark Liberty is rectum of the world........
Virtually everything you see on those commercial weather sites come DIRECTLY from these interlinked sites:
Go right to the source and ask the horse (and avoid all the ads and social media noise).
Also extremely useful is this site:

Keep a eye on Jeff Masters’ blog linked there. True, he’s a Global Warming devotee, but for near term stuff, he’s good.

Why should I believe this Joaquin forecast is any more accurate?
I’m on that same flight! Seat 12A.

I don’t think Joe works for AccuWeather any longer. I think he works for WeatherBell. At any rate Joe is a good guy who is part of the Free Republic.
That said, the East Coast has been getting plenty of cold, wind driven rain with copious amounts of clouds and dampness. On way to NYC now and it was raw and chilly standing on the concrete platform in suburban Connecticut and everybody was shivering under black umbrellas.
The days of summer are gone. No more cavorting with fluffy dogs on lush green lawns and cooking chicken thighs and roasting Brussels sprouts on Weber grills with access to ice-cold Pilsner beers.
Now this weekend I’m raking leaves, stacking firewood and drinking pumpkin beer. Football games will be on but I’m going to have to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch them because I cut my cable.
Saturday Night Live starts their new season this weekend. Another harbinger of colder days ahead.
Thanks for the links.
"Sam Adams", "pumpkin beer"?
Yes! I have SamAdams Pumpkin Batch sitting in my beer refrigerator now along with some Octoberfest. That refrigerator does need a good cleaning. I keep it down the basement and away from the wife. During the summer house guests have left behind unimaginable swill from Coors Light to wine coolers. That entire refrigerator needs a good cleaning out so I can make room for the stouts and ales of winter.
Pumpkin Batch...Shaazamm!
