“They argue that Prieto, 49, has an intellectual disability”

To me that has never been a rock solid defense against the death penalty.

Coming soon: California the “sanctuary state” that refuses to extradite anyone to another state who might face the death penalty there. It’ll be catch-and-release instead.

As of now, a judge in Virginia has issued a stay of execution while the murderous swine’s attorneys challenge the drugs used for lethal injections by the Commonwealth.

That being the case, I say we should drop lethal injection as an approved execution method, dust off Ol’ Sparky, and “begin the procedure”.

It’s really vital that states begin as soon as possible to integrate the firing squad as an optional means of execution. At least one state has done it “if the other means of execution have been precluded by the courts”.

The reason to have it on the books is nonsense like arguments over what chemicals to use for lethal injection, and the endless nattering about the electric chair and the gas chamber. They have already made hanging untenable, via endless nattering.

But the firing squad is different. Inexpensive, requiring no special skill beyond being a LEO, it just needs a wooden brace for the rifles and a sturdy chair with straps and hood for the condemned.

It is also very hard to appeal as a means of execution. And this matters with federal judges who don’t want to *allow* the execution of any vicious killer, ever.

Over the past few years, death penalty opponents successfully have pressured major pharmaceutical companies to stop the manufacture of lethal injection drugs. <<<

we dont need any pharmaceutical $hit to do that job
