Yeah, there’s still a lot of achievement hatred around, too much in the U.S. and even more world wide.
There used to be a FReeper, a very accomplished and financially successful guy, he’d hammer away at the losers here who were so jealous and envious of the successful. I wouldn’t want a job on Wallstreet. They work crazy hours, can’t be with their families and have trouble with work/life balance, but they make the country run. We need a strong financial system. It gets the money to the little guy chasing a dream and taking a risk.
Look at any country without a powerful and healthy financial system and you see poverty. That so many cannot make the connection is a real tragedy, especially among conservatives. We used to believe in classical liberalism, now I see calls for “just the right amount of central planning” every day. Economic liberty is liberty. They are one and the same and the reason we fought the Revolution.
