Sen. Barry Goldwater, the 1964 Presidential nominee of the Republican Party was 1/2 Jewish by birth, on his father's side. His mother was Episcopalian and he was raised as an Episcopalian, but did also identify himself as Jewish (per Wikipedia bio).

Al Gore's running mate for VP was Joseph Lieberman, who is a practicing Orthodox Jew.

Those are the only two I am aware of, but there may be others.

I think Abraham Lincoln should be granted honorary Orthodox status. I mean, the black suits, the hat, the beard... plus he WAS named “Abe”.
