After Four Years of Failure in Syria, Obama Looks to Russia and Iran for Help

Listen closely to the president, Putin, and Rouhani and you’ll hear common ground on Assad and ISIS.

When President Barack Obama spoke at the United Nations today, he opened the door wide to cooperation with Iran and Russia in an effort to end the Syrian civil war that has shattered the Middle East, spawned ferocious new terrorist forces, and driven millions toward the frontiers of Europe to seek safety.

In what was generally a boilerplate paean to democracy, the rule of law, and the virtues of diplomacy, Obama conceded “nowhere is our commitment to international order more tested than in Syria,” where “realism dictates that compromise will be required.”

Reality also demonstrates that Obama’s efforts to shape a policy over the last four years of violence have been utter failures, with the latest humiliations including the defection of U.S.-trained Syrian rebel forces to the ranks of al Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate.

The extension of Russian power is the goal of Obama and Putin. They’re two peas in a pod.

Obama is not working with Russia. It just seems that way because Putin has bested Obama more often than not.

It is a double surrender, really.

First to Iran, on the “deal” that GUARANTEES that Iran, having no incentive to abide with its terms once the $150 billion is released to them, will proceed with developing their nuclear weapons capability.

Then to the Russian Federation, effectively making the Russians the new sheriff in the Middle East.

I agree. Obama simply wants to be positioned to take part (the largest part knowing him) of the credit if Russia has successes against ISIS.

From an earlier thread from Yahoo news

“President Obama took on a confrontational tone in his speech this morning to the United Nations General Assembly, specifically calling out Russia, China and Iran for destabilizing activities in various world conflicts”.

The whole thing is beyond messed up.

What a piece of spin

Obama looks to nobody, obama controls nothing, obama is the sniveling whiner left out of the game trying to act like he’s in charge

Funny, the Chinese and Russians voted in the UN to have the USA and her allies deal with Libya. So in a way, the mess there is Russia's and China's because they let it happen.

Imagine if Putin had not stopped Obama from bombing Assad? All of Syria would be in ISIS' hands.

Exactly.

When Putin stopped Obama, I told a liberal that Obama was a “war monger” and thank God Putin stopped him. That guy went ballistic. LOL

And isn’t it sad when the news media attack anybody that doesn’t agree with what this idiot bath house barry’s opinion and act like he’s their gawd.....

Russia and Iran are allies.

So whatever threats, bribes, or forms of blackmail the Ayatollahs used to persuade Obama to sign a treaty giving Iran everything it wanted with nothing for the U.S., I’m sure the Ayatollahs will be happy to pass on to their friend Vladimir Putin so that Russia can get everything IT wants from Obama too.

The sanctions against Russia will probably soon be lifted. Secret deals will then be made that will empower Russia against the U.S. and its allies, and soon Vladimir Putin will be bestriding the world like a colossus.

Rebuilding the Russian Empire and tearing down the USA are Obama’s and Putin’s goals. When Putin bests Obama, it’s only because he’s done more harm to the USA and its allies than even Obama. They’re two sides to the same coin. They two peas in a pod. Their policy differences are a distinction without a difference. Harm America. Strengthen America’s enemies. Putin and Obama share those values. You may cheer for Putin, but you’re really supporting the same thing as Obama when you cheer on Putin.
