Pope Francis said on Monday government officials have a "human right" to refuse to discharge a duty, such as issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals, if they feel it violates their conscience.

Wow. What government does he mean?
Meanwhile, Obomination is running around, flush with his papal blessing, saying just the opposite.
LOL. Part of me is looking forward to how the media will spin this or whether it will be the end of their love affair with the Pope. Part of me is disturbed that he thinks he can speak on government policy like this.
And what was it Barack just said?
"We affirm that we cherish our religious freedom and are profoundly respectful of religious traditions," Obama said during remarks that were interrupted by repeated applause and cheers. "But we also have to say clearly that our religious freedom doesn't grant us the freedom to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights."

What government policy are you talking about? He said:
"I can't have in mind all cases that can exist about conscientious objection but, yes, I can say that conscientious objection is a right that is a part of every human right,"
This is a fairly standard Christian view of concientious objection, shared with the Quakers and Martin Luther King among many others. It is heartening for any Christians of any denomination to speak out in support of this very basic principle.

A Catholic could invent a cure for cancer, and a few people on this site would describe it as’disturbing’...
Not just a few. Did you see the thread where Pope Francis made the most basic, common, traditional statement about the theology of the Cross? There were dozens of comments denouncing his heresy even though I could easily find numerous Protestant sermons saying the same thing, and even a popular Protestant biblical commentary.
