‘CAMP OF THE SAINTS’ SEEN MIRRORED IN POPE’S MESSAGE
Breitbart ^ | 9/24/15 | JULIA HAHN

Posted on 09/28/2015 12:51:44 AM PDT by aquila48

Pope Francis is urging America to throw open her borders to thousands of impoverished migrants, in part to atone for the “sins” of the colonial era.

“We must not repeat the sins and the errors of the past. We must resolve now to live as nobly and as justly as possible,” he declared before a joint session of Congress. “Thousands of persons are led to travel north in search of a better life for themselves and for their loved ones, in search of greater opportunities…We must not be taken aback by their numbers.”

...

Indeed, as the Pope addressed the nation today it is clear that the immigration issue has hit a boiling point. Headlines blare:

European Migrant Crisis: Austria, Germany Near Tipping Point… As Europe Grasps For Answers, More Migrants Flood Its Border… Pope Francis Urges Congress To Embrace Migrants… Western and UN Aid Falling Far Short… Five More Fleets On The Way, From Africa, India and Asia… Refugee Fleet Is Headed For Europe, For France…

The last three headlines, however, are ripped not from today’s papers, but from the pages of a controversial 1973 French novel by Jean Raspail, which many say has predicted with shocking accuracy the events unfolding today.

He must mean because the Christian framers of our country wrote our main documents to exclude the USA from being ruled by Rome or any other outside influence except Almighty God.

The Camp of the Saints (Le Camp des Saints) is a 1973 French apocalyptic novel by Jean Raspail. The novel depicts a setting where in Third World mass immigration to France and the West leads to the destruction of Western civilization. Almost forty years after publication the book returned to the bestseller list in 2011.[1] The title is a reference to the Book of Revelation (Rev 20:9)

Why doesn’t the pope throw open the Vatican to ‘immigrants’?
Why doesn’t he sell the millions of dollars worth of treasures housed there and give the money to the poor ‘immigrants? Two-face Socialist!

Our forefathers came here, worked hard, learned English, assimilated and made America the greatest country the world has ever known.

Muslims, Mexican and S Americans and others will not.
They want to make America like the sh*t holes they came from.
They’re here for welfare, free stuff and money to send back home.

It seems people have forgotten it was the Catholic Church that pretty much caused the dark ages.

The Catholic Church has returned to it's dark age roots.

It now actively seeks to impoverish the masses so that they will in desperation turn to God. It's a sick philosophy.

If the Pope really cared about all these “migrants”, he would throw open the Vatican Treasuries to take care of them.

***in part to atone for the “sins” of the colonial era. ***

This idea is held by many on other leftist web sites.
Some whites there have openly hoped for the day when white culture will no longer be the majority in the USA.

We were the colonies. We have not been the colonial powers. We fought the Revolutionary War to free ourselves from our rulers in England

Yep!

Just Like Rush Limbaugh using F.R. as "show prep"

Or Sarah Palin herself telling me she loves and knows F.R.

You might be surprised how influential we are.

We Set the Narrative.

"...atone for the “sins” of the colonial era.

I'm confused. Is it the sin of plumbing, or sanitation, or engineering, or medicine that we should atone for?

Stop encouraging mortal sin!

Are you an adult?
Have you ever questioned your own communications skills?

I can't help wondering which mortal sin, specifically, are you agonizing about?

Unless you're a OUIJA Board salesman your post is incomprehensible.

Why is it they are coming here, the hotbed of capitalism, instead of going to countries with economies like that of Argentina, which he seems to like so much?

Well, you can let other people tell you what he said or you can read for yourself what he said when he spoke to the Congress. I choose the latter and I prefer to think for myself.

If you ever get a chance to read what he actually said, you might try to write a list of quotes wherein he suggested that the Congress take any specific action. I read only a lot of gassy statements like:

"You are the face of its people, their representatives. You are called to defend and preserve the dignity of your fellow citizens in the tireless and demanding pursuit of the common good, for this is the chief aim of all politics. A political society endures when it seeks, as a vocation, to satisfy common needs by stimulating the growth of all its members, especially those in situations of greater vulnerability or risk. Legislative activity is always based on care for the people. To this you have been invited, called and convened by those who elected you."

"In Laudato Si’, I call for a courageous and responsible effort to “redirect our steps” (ibid., 61), and to avert the most serious effects of the environmental deterioration caused by human activity. I am convinced that we can make a difference and I have no doubt that the United States – and this Congress – have an important role to play. Now is the time for courageous actions and strategies, aimed at implementing a “culture of care” (ibid., 231) and “an integrated approach to combating poverty, restoring dignity to the excluded, and at the same time protecting nature” (ibid., 139). "

"In particular, I would like to call attention to those family members who are the most vulnerable, the young. For many of them, a future filled with countless possibilities beckons, yet so many others seem disoriented and aimless, trapped in a hopeless maze of violence, abuse and despair. Their problems are our problems. We cannot avoid them. We need to face them together, to talk about them and to seek effective solutions rather than getting bogged down in discussions."

"God bless America."

I smell gas. I don't think he called upon Congress to do anything specific. Do you see any specific recommendations in that speech? What's the scary part - the part about pursing a "common good," or the part about stimulating growth, or the part about averting "the most serious effects of environmental deterioration," or the part about protecting life and particularly the most vulnerable, "the young"?

If you want to terrify yourself, knock yourself out. To me, it all sounded like the speeches that I've heard from popes as long as I have been alive. It was just a lot of gassy encouragement to care about and to help the people that they pass laws to govern. I don't see anything specific enough to argue about. It reminds me of the kind of stuff that you might find in an old copy of Reader's Digest.

I don't wish to offend any of the Pope's fans, but he's not really saying anything very specific. I don't see anything about carbon taxes or amnesty for illegals or anything. He did say that he's always opposed the death penalty, but that's about it. Whoopee!
