Exactly what was on my mind when I posted that. Another time when a Pope went outside of Religion and botched it.

For a guy with one lung he sure has enough breath to say a lot of wrong things.

We should emulate the Pope by having large Vatican styled walls on our borders and we should adopt the Vatican immigration policy which I hear is the strictest in the world.

The Pope should not say it if he is unwilling to have himself or the Church do it?
He sure loves his real estate, banks and business interests.

I won't address all your points, but will say this man, I repeat man was elected by other men to be the voice of God.

We can debate Biblical scripture, religious beliefs, creation vs evolution, etc. Someone please explain to me why this Cardinal got the votes to become a supposed direct line to God. Church politics? Personal feelings? Age? Next in line?

Also, please explain why Popes are so popular? Is it the need for so many to believe that a human being can be connected to a supreme being? I really don't get it. Watching this spectacle I'm thinking I'm observing an orchestrated reality show. If we wants to preach the wonderful teachings of Jesus Christ, I'm all for it. But no, for some reason he wants to be PC and lecture us on his own beliefs. Oops, that would be God's beliefs as transmitted to this elected man.

The Pope eats, pees, poops like any other human being. Why do millions think he is devine once the white smoke comes out? To me, it is cognitive dissonance. I'll say again, no wonder the Protestant movement came about.

Hey Pope Francis, while you're talking down to us, what do you have to say about all your priests who molest young boys? Pfft.

Yup and all their pagan practices, rituals, idol worship, praying to others(Mary, praying to other dead humans etc) besides Christ or to god in Christs name is not biblical doctrine period. It also was not done when Christ was on earth. Its Roman paganism mixed with Christianity(done by Constantine when the empire accepted Christianity), if they would just do research on it they would see it for what it is.

Actually he is just another Bishop. In this case, the Bishop of Rome, not the world.

The Pope walks in Christ’s shoes. Usually they pick modest, humble and superlative people to be elected Popes.
Usually the Popes are so popular because they rarely step out to travel and when they do you have the head of the Catholic Church on earth visiting some of the 1.7 billion Catholics.

But Popes for decades now have made Cardinals from places where there is still child abuse by clergy and it is still a massive problem in Europe. There are major leftists Cardinals out there voting in the Pope.

This Pope exists because of:
#1 All of the progressive Cardinals that were made.
#2 The Church is dying and Francis being from Argentina can speak to the largest growth population in Catholicism which is Hispanics. Mind you the ethics of many of the peasants they are attracting are part Isis themselves.

Infallibility is related to religion, not politics.
When you get a peasant Pope who has no idea of how the growth of wealth can benefit charity and help others you get Francis with a capital F.

This Pope is turning off most all non-peasant Catholics with his non religion talk. I am Catholic, most all Catholics I talk to can’t wait for the NEXT POPE to be made.
Of course this one is making liberals orgasmic when a Pope is out there embracing the successful politics of socialist despite it being a huge failure in practice.

Mind you the socialists are Santa Clause government until they spend the Treasury and Tax Payer’s bank accounts. After that the socialist run countries are just packs of mobs still wanting all their stuff.
That is greed and selfishness without any productivity to do it for themselves and others. That is what this Pope with the capital F is pushing.

Francis is kind of like Obama in a Pope’s outfit IMO.

Nope, the Cross and Saints that you may see in a Church are just visuals to help remind us of what we are about.
You pray to GOD ONLY. There is no praying to dead humans.
You have your information all wrong.

We ask Saints and Mary to pray WITH AND FOR US in the Spirit of two or more praying together as in the Bible.
I don’t think it is wrong to ask my dear mother who passed to please pray for me and others in her prayers despite her passing. Why wouldn’t those who passed away not be wanting to pray hand help us.
Many ask especially Mary to pray for us or our needs because Christ at the wedding turned water into wine despite this not being His time due to his mother asking. Mary has the love of Jesus and to ask her to include us in her prayers isn’t us praying to her like some goddess.

Now do peasants not get that? Yes.
You can see some Hispanics in my area come to Church with statues the size of a toddler at times not understanding that what they are doing is ignorant.
Some are even doing a Rosary during Mass which is also wrong.

I am not Roman Catholic but have great admiration and respect for them. Regardless of what some on FR say they, by and large are devout in their worship and mighty in service to those in need. The Pope is their leader and whoever it is has some words to which we may not agree, but mostly we do, and we are all the same in our belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I wish that all of our protestant denominations were as disciplined in their faith as are the RC. And find for me one other religious leader who commands the attention and respect of so many millions of people. As a rule I never put down any Christian faith because in reality we are all one in the sight of God. As someone once said, at the foot of the Cross the ground is level.

" Its Roman paganism mixed with Christianity(done by Constantine when the empire accepted Christianity), if they would just do research on it they would see it for what it is."

Thank you for making that point. Since I'm not a religious person nor historian, I sometimes forget about about Constantine. Wasn't he instrumental in the founding of the Catholic Church? Won't Google and wait for your knowledgeable reply.

Phillip Melanchthon isn't in the Bible.

The Bible warns us about following human traditions.

Below is the biblical case for the papacy.

In the Davidic Kingdom, the office of the king's vizier (or palace majordomo or vice-regent) was the second most powerful office next to that of the king.

In Isaiah 22, we see the transfer of office from one vizier to the next, from Eliakim to Shebna. The office was represented by a robe, sash and over-sized key which the vizier wore around his neck. In the king's absence or incapacity, the vizier, or master of the palace, acted as king. (2 Kings 15:5).

The New Testament tells us that Jesus sits on David's throne, and is the King of the eternal, redeemed Davidic Kingdom --Christ's Church.

In Matthew 16, Jesus establishes His Church and the office of Vizier, giving the "keys of the kingdom" to Peter.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
"Binding and loosing" was a well-established term in the OT, meaning ultimate ecclesiastical authority.

A Protestant Response To Pope Francis’s Address
September 24, 2015 By Phillip Melancthon

"The Bible and Holy Fathers show that the claims of the papacy, currently held by Pope Francis, undermine the Gospel. He is not head of the Christian Church and obedience to him is not necessary for salvation."

============

The true person Philipp Melancthon, was, according to Wiki":

"Philipp Melanchthon, original name Philipp Schwartzerd (born February 15, 1497, Bretten, Palatinate [Germany]—died April 19, 1560, probably Wittenberg, Saxony), German author of the Augsburg Confession of the Lutheran Church (1530), humanist, Reformer, theologian, and educator. He was a friend of Martin Luther and defended his views. In 1521 Melanchthon published the Loci communes, the first systematic treatment of the new Wittenberg theology developed by Luther. Because of his academic expertise, he was asked to help in founding schools, and he played an important role in reforming public schools in Germany."

In defense of the Catholic Church, it was the first one and only one going back to Christ turning it over to Peter.

Other branches popped out in fact over parts of Church doctrine they kind of felt they did not want to follow.

England created their version due to wanting divorce as an example.
Martin Luther had authority issues.

I can go on and on down the line.

The ONE thing that makes all the odd branches acceptable IMO is the core that “We are not worthy, only say the word and I shall be healed” ... Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior for our salvation...

Without Christ who are any of us to be before God or be counted worthy to enter Heaven, right? :-)

The “man of sin” is the anti-Christ. The pope will probably end up being the false prophet spoken of in Revelation 13:11-15. The catholic “church” is the “Whore of Babylon” in the book of Revelation that is spreading false doctrine.

I’m not big on the Pope. My mother’s people were driven from
their country by the Catholic priests. They were Maupins;
Protestants (called Huguenots). - Ended up in England.
Moved from there to America. Fought in American Revolution.
Land grants didn’t go far when they got divided amongst
lots of kids.
