Empty manufacturing facilities litter the landscape all across this country because of NAFTA, and the like.

EXCELLENT idea!!

Now let's await the arrival of the hate-Trump crowd who will point out the 'folly' of doing away with NAFTA.

I’d like to hear Trump talk a bit about the CARNAGE created by our labor unions and government regulations.

Anyone that was around in the Northeast and Midwest 25 years ago knows that those places were VIRTUALLY DEAD before NAFTA was even under consideration in Congress.

Outstanding!

I’m amazed by the people that still defend it.

I have a feeling some engineers in Mexico have been given orders to come up with a massive new border wall project.

Won’t sit well with the Chamber Of Commerce and doctrinaire free traders...

I always hated NAFTA and this is why I voted for Ross Perot. Too bad it got Bill Clinton into office but Ross Perot was right in 1992.
1992-Pat Buchanan also ran against GW Bush and against NAFTA.

And guess who was an adviser to both campaigns? FRANK LUNTZ!!!

The Donald does know business and business deals. I’d believe him if only it wasn’t our traitorous Dept. of State that would be involved.

Question, can just a EO break the agreement, or does it take a act of our gutless GOP congress?

If Trump plans to be a EO Dictator like the Marxist In Chief I don’t want him. Stroke of the Pen, Law of the Land as we learned under slick willie.

My estimation of Mr. Trump just skyrocketed. He actually gets something that both the Democrats and the Republican leadership have ignored: that these trade treaties are gutting the American economy and hurting tens of millions of Americans.

Truthfully, what good does it do America if multinational corporations can sell on our markets, but pay no taxes, hire no Americans, keep American companies from developing, and push socialism on us to keep down their expenses?

What good does it do America if multinational corporations can outsource near slave labor to make products they import back to the US, firing millions of Americans in the process?

What good does it do America if multinational corporations import foreign high-tech workers and fire American high-tech workers, so they don’t have to pay benefits, promote the foreigners, or ever give them a raise, then discard them like used facial tissue and bring over a new bunch?

If it was just *one* of these things, America and Americans might be able to tolerate it. But as things are now, it is just ravaging and impoverishing our nation. And the Republican leadership is just as much to blame for this as are the Democrats.

But...but...but... cheap stuff at Wal-Mart!

Yes, and MASSIVE trade deficits, adding trillions of dollars to our national debt, and encouraging profligate spending by these politicians, who should be stripped of their wealth and forced to live naked on a desert island.

NAFTA is a part of Agenda 21 / “Sustainable Development”. In the Preamble it lists “support Sustainable Development” as a Goal.

Trump is right on target and this is precisely why he is such a threat to the global Marxist cabal.

I've spoken to Canadian distributors who want nothing to do with NAFTA exemptions because it is too hard for them to prove that a product is "100% Made in the USA". If even the smallest part of any product is made elsewhere and the Canadian government finds out, they are ruthless in coming after the importers for back customs duties. Importers prefer to just buy from China at a lower price and pay the duties up front.

Just one of many ways NAFTA isn't working out as intended - like any huge, complex bill. A one-paragraph law reading "No duties on imports between North American countries" might have worked...but of course the looters would have been cut out of the deal.

NAFTA was heralded as a means of helping the Mexican economy, so that their people wouldn't come flooding America (wetbacks).

It appears that America lost on both counts. Manufacturing and jobs went to Mexico, and Mexico dumped its human debris on the US.

Trump threatens to 'break' trade pact with Mexico, Canada

Break it and DON'T replace it with anything.

Trump is absolutely correct on this.

And, I prepared to argue the matter with any Freeper who cares to argue otherwise.

The "Free Trade" now in place has very little resemblance to that envisioned by Adam Smith.

You know, the version that has never existed.
