China is preparing to launch a new ballistic missile submarine that could potentially target any part of the United States by the end of 2015, Anthony Capaccio and David Tweed report for Bloomberg Business.
The deployment of the new Jin-class ballistic missile submarine will mark a substantial increase in China's potential nuclear ability. The Jin-class submarines will be armed with the new JL-2 ballistic missile. This missile has a range of 4,000 nautical miles, which would allow the submarine to target Hawaii, Alaska, and portions of the west coast of the US from the waters off of East Asia.
Should the Jin-class submarine be capable of positioning itself to the east of Hawaii, it would be able to target the any part of the continental United States for a hypothetical ballistic missile strike, Bloomberg notes.

Don’t just stop at the Clintons. Businesses put security of our computer systems to the bottom of the list. It has only been very recently that security of our public enterprise intranets have become more and more of a concern. This is much a fault of those who determined that security was not the most important thing when creating a network and data repositories. More data has been stolen because of this than anything Hitlary or her bae could have fathomed. I hate the Clintons but give credit where credit is due.

The problem spans much farther and wider than I imagined.
We’;ve been seeing the Jin class for years. They just recently announced that they are making operational deterrent patrols...just like we do with the Ohios.
So they have a new SSBN for their nuclear program. I will promise you that every one of them has been tagged for acoustic signature as soon as they ventured out to sea.
This is nothing new.
The Chinese are modernizing their forces...and they are using our trade imbalance to do so.
They have some decent stuff.
But they do not match us by a good ways yet.
Just the same we always have to be wary of a dedicated and capable foe. Nothing new there either.
The Jin is their Type 094 boat. They have six of them. They are building and may have already launched their next generation Type 096 Tang class.
We have 14 Ohios and even though they are well over 20 years old, they are far superior to anything the Chinese have, or will launch in the forseeable future.

If we didn’t give them the data needed to keep up in the war on weapons then our weapons companies would not be needed. It’s a game using the people as pawns.
Yeah, when people owe me a trillion dollars the first thing I always think of is how to blow them up. :)
