Band (of consultants) paid on: Explaining Scott Walker
Washington Times ^ | 9/23/15 | Ed Martin

Posted on 09/25/2015 5:57:06 AM PDT by Amntn

First, the requisite compliment: Gov. Scott Walker is a wonderful guy and a true leader. What he has done in standing up to the unions is remarkable and will be remembered in history. I had high hopes he could marry his fearless leadership with conservative positions that I assumed he held - on marriage, on life, on spending - but … well, his campaign for president became something else entirely.

Mr. Walker failed because in every Republican cycle, the establishment needs some guys to run and to fail. The Establishment needs the money and employment, and they need candidates to play along with the rigged Republican nomination process. Mr. Walker bought the Establishment plan and he ran the same playbook that the Republican establishment has been using for nearly two decades. That is, raise a boatload of money and spend it on consultants and staff (especially in early states) and then raise more money and run ads in Iowa and New Hampshire. (Media buyers get 10 percent for the ad buys, and the media in Iowa and New Hampshire love the cash too!) Pollsters must be paid big money to parse positions and “sharpen” the candidate.

Not so much ‘fooled’ as ‘fooked.’

But, I’m glad to have him home. We have more Socialist faces to grind into the gravel.

Heads on pikes! Forward! :)

Today he’s messing with the way State workers are hired and making it easier to FIRE the dead wood that plagues our current system.

Liberals Heads Exploding! Clean up in Aisle Five with a mop!

Ah, it’s good to have him HOME! :)

This is the reason for my question:

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/08/22/tripwire-alert-evidence-now-exists-to-show-benefit-of-gope-road-mapped-splitter-strategy/

Was he in on it or was he fooled by them?

I utterly despise that class of parasitic vermin known collectively as “republican consultants/strategists”.

The damage done to these insects by Trump’s candidacy is a yuge benefit to us all.

No, I don’t think Walker was fooled. The game is this, consultants live and die off of other people — candidates. They need to find someone brave enough to run for public office while they get to toil behind the scenes and get paid handsomely.

The consultants will whisper head-inflating things into the candidate’s ear (not necessarily just Walker) to inspire him along. The candidate is the consultant’s meal ticket.

Moreover, the candidate is a meal ticket for the corrupt MSM who plays the game extremely well. They run stories to intentionally heat up a race, to make it a horse race, to induce candidates from all parties to spend ever greater amounts on advertising. You watch, if the race is dull or an opponent is actually weak, thus not producing a interesting contest, the media (local and national) will puff up a candidate like a prize fighter might hold up a patsy for a few rounds. It’s all designed to extract as much advertising dollars from a political race as possible.

So in the end, the candidate is just a vehicle to earn money for consultants and the corrupt MSM. Sure you always want your guy to win so as to increase your prestige or the possibility of getting a government job, but in the end the consultants can always walk away with a fatter bank account regardless of how their candidate fares in an election.

Yeah, always say nice things about your guy afterwards because if you don’t you may not get the next guy who is willing to enter the political cage match.

I’m wondering if Trump realizes that Iowa is not really a true testing ground of a campaign. Carson, may readily win there, and if so, it means nothing. Better to spend time down stream to assure wins in NH, SC etc. REagan I think won Iowa (?), lost NH to Bush, then won in SC and never looked back.

The other thing, is that I’m amazed at the number of smart people who have yet to warm up to Trump. He can do much more to win them over.

So, IOWs, there’s room for his campaign to grow.

Remember that Walker has a close relationship with R Priebus at the GOP. What probably happened was Walker called Priebus and asked who the best national konsutanz were, got the name and unquestioningly hired them.

Then they did what they always do and got the same crappy results. He would have been much better off to stick with a few of his old advisers and stayed true to his own strategies and approaches.

consultants, especially so-called GOP consultants, are scum of the earth..yes they want the money, but ask Sarah Palin how Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt will stab you in the back..she made the naïve mistake of trusting these low-lifes

You really have no clue how conservatively he has governed in Wisconsin.

Billions in tax cuts.
Expanded School Choice
Concealed Carry
Defunded Planned Parenthood

It was truly revealing the number of ignorant and dishonest posts there were about him on this site week after week.

It looks like the Establishment GOP sabotaged Walker’s campaign.

Through Walker's campaign, it seemed like there were two Scott Walkers. One was Scott Walker speaking for himself. The other was the one programmed by his consultants.

Perhaps the lesson is that no one should consider running for President until their visions on all policies are formulated and have been tested on a smaller stage.

I've noticed that these posts often have the same fervor as the religious ones. And often contain the same types of lies and mistruths.

True, true. Good summary.
Now, the question: Why do these repubbie candidates rehire these all-so-consistently-failing, all-so-expensive Washington Beltway repubbie consultants?

Are they simply “not failing enough” in the state and local elections (despite the consultants that is) that the candidates simply carry their baggage into the national races? Do the consultant class get “partied and parried” by 10,000 evening parties with liberal, ultra-suave and debonair political types at Alexandria parties and the Washington press corpse of 24-hour-per-day Washington Post and NY Times?

Indeed! Some of us here on FR, at one time lived in Wauwatosa and were represented by Scott Walker, after he defeated Democrat Chris Ament, son of then-Milwaukee County Executive Tom Ament.

Some of us here on FR, at one time lived in Milwaukee County during his tenure as Milwaukee County Executive, cleaning up the mess left by Tom Ament and his cronies who had voted themselves big fat pensions.

Some of us here on FR actually live in Wisconsin.

Some of us, for years, have had to endure leftists spreading lies about Scott Walker every chance they get. It is no small insult to have to endure the constant stream of lies about Scott Walker from my so-called fellow FR conservatives, day after day, week after week.
