Boehner coup talk puts House GOP on edge

Growing chatter about a possible coup against Speaker John Boehner has set Capitol Hill on edge.

Talk that conservatives might use a government-funding showdown to overthrow the powerful Ohio Republican has triggered a flurry of behind-the-scenes jockeying among lawmakers eager to move up the leadership ladder.

And that has lawmakers wondering more than ever if Boehner’s days as Speaker are numbered.

“That’s what tells you there’s something afoot. You know there’s some drops of blood in the water, because all the sharks are starting to circle,” said one conservative lawmaker who backs Boehner's ouster.

Conservatives have threatened to shut down the government on Oct. 1 if Congress doesn’t strip federal funding from Planned Parenthood. Boehner thinks a shutdown would be disastrous for the party in an election year, but he also knows conservatives have vowed to move against him if he teams up with Democrats to fund the government.

Publicly, Boehner is projecting confidence, repeatedly telling reporters in recent weeks he has “widespread support” from his GOP conference. But even behind closed doors, Boehner has had to contend with nagging questions about his political future.

At a private fundraiser for a GOP lawmaker last week, a donor asked Boehner whether he was worried about a possible conservative insurrection.

“Look, this group of guys is not going to knock me off my stride,” Boehner replied, according to a source in the room.

There's blood in the water and the lust for power is kicking in among the members who want to move up.

If the tide keeps building, Boehner and his democrat allies won't be able to thwart it.

I think they should get rid of Boehner and they should shut down the government...at least that way, they can’t spend money that we don’t have...

And I don’t think obuma’s pen and phone can over ride it...

Boehner has been bought and paid for by the crony chamber of communist!
The Best Politician Money Can Buy!

In June 1995, Boehner distributed campaign contributions from tobacco industry lobbyists on the House floor as House members were weighing how to vote on tobacco subsidies. In a 1996 documentary by PBS called The People and the Power Game, Boehner said "They asked me to give out a half dozen checks quickly before we got to the end of the month and I complied. And I did it on the House floor, which I regret. I should not have done. It's not a violation of the House rules, but it's a practice that‘s gone on here for a long time that we're trying to stop and I know I'll never do it again."

A September 2010 New York Times story said Boehner was "Tightly Bound to Lobbyists" and "He maintains especially tight ties with a circle of lobbyists and former aides representing some of the nation’s biggest businesses, including Goldman Sachs, Google, Citigroup, R.J. Reynolds, MillerCoors and UPS.".

He Is Worthless To Everyone Except The Democrats!

Conservatives need to think big. Break the entire budget into pieces and submit one spending bill at a time. Let Obama veto them one at a time.

First time the bouncers will throw out the orange bartender Boner. That sounds like a good name for a mixed drink.
Mitch the Scarecrow needs to see the wizard for a brain, a heart and the courage too. That is if boss Harry booty scReid gives him across the aisle permission.

This has dragged on for another week.

Supposedly, the initiator wanted to delay the vote until after the Labor Day recess.

So, what is the hold-up now?

This is resembling more and more the typical-ness of Republicans — doing nothing or as little as possible.

It’s interesting to note that Boehner doesn’t give a crap about keeping his job; he only cares about carrying out Obama’s agenda.

Voters had the chance too and would have avoided all the caves since Nov. But they listened to the lesser evils and got what they voted for. A man that campaigned on working with Obama.

Blame the idiots that causes Bhoner to be re-elected.

Lying frauds. And they are still here screaming for every liberal the GOP puts up. In rotation.

Does Boehner have a primary opponent? He should.

Failing that, conservatives should mount a campaign to have every conservative in his district vote for the Democrat in 2016.
