Gosh, what a scandal, disabling mechanisms that diminished performance and fuel economy when at speed when emissions are at their lowest, vs slow street speeds and stop and go traffic where it was fully enabled.

I bet all the VW owners can’t wait to have their cars broken to satisfy some government bureaucrat.

AFAIK car emissions are still only regulated during the LA City Traffic driving cycle at low and “high” (Denver) altitudes. Not on the highway except for fuel economy on the highway cycle.

My TDI will never see a dealership again. (Actually, you can get better service than at the dealer, but you can’t pay more for it.)
