During a 1988 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump discussed the prospect of running for president someday, saying, “probably not, but I do get tired of seeing the country ripped off.”
Though the billionaire businessman admitted that he didn’t have “the inclination” to run, he also said he “would never want to rule it out totally” for the future.
“I just probably wouldn’t do it, Oprah. But I do get tired of seeing what’s happening with this country,” he said.
If Trump was fed up with the state of the nation back then, he must be livid now, which would certainly explain his move to throw his hat in the ring for a 2016 presidential bid.

I saw this about a week and a half ago and I WAS impressed how so alike he is now as then.
The only difference is the hair.
Amazing!! There is NO ONE in DC who is as consistent as Trump is. Every issue he brought up in 1988 is 100 times worse now.
He really is this generation’s Reagan. If we lose our courage and go with the “electable” GOProgressive, then we deserve our fate as a nation.

So what? I was a democrat, too, that is, until Jimmy Carter came along.
Just because a person was once something, doesn’t mean they can’t change. The democrat party then wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now. The dems threw social conservatism to the curb and slid all the way to the left. Not everyone wanted to slide with them.
Reagan was also once a democrat.
