Who fears them?
I’ll admit I detest their behavior — and I view their condition as a brokenness — a disease — in need of healing.
And I despise the fascist militant wing that insists I accept tham as normal.
But *fear* them? Nah.
They see themselves as broken or at least sense something is not right, hence the need for constant public affirmation of their lifestyle or in the worst case the need to destroy anyone who makes them conscious of their condition.

Sexual anything should come from parents to children. In our society today we are moving away from this and it is very bad. I could care less about what adults to in private but don’t ruin it for the kids. And they have, not just gays, all the other crap. Glad I grew up when I did despite the BS about all our phobias and other problems.
