SIMI VALLEY, California — Most reporters continued to sit while the National Anthem played at the start of the GOP’s presidential primary debate.
Breitbart News captured a video showing most reporters and support staff sitting down, instead of standing as most Americans typically do.

Only 1 in 10 “unbiased” and “independent” reporters bother to stand during the national anthem?
A few days ago I had the opportunity to go to a small school cross country meet invitational where 17 schools had come early on a Saturday morn to run 3.1 miles. It was about 10-15 minutes til start time, varsity squads were at the starting line stretching, having team meeting, encouraging one another, jr varsity & jr high squads were scattered about under school banner canopies when suddenly over the loud speaker came the sound of the National Anthem.
Hard to hear the first notes, no announcement had been made that it was being played, but slowly, athletes stopped running & stretching, parents stood, shushing could be heard as teams quieted each other & EVERYONE at our small country school was standing facing the flag.
It was the 12th of Sept which made it even more overwhelming. Seventeen schools represented by students, coaches, faculty & families were proud & humbled by the freedom they enjoy enough to stop & honor the colors of our nation. It was difficult to have a dry eye!
So glad that out here in fly over country we know how to stop and put first things first!
In my high school, one of the Spanish teachers often patrolled the school grounds during the playing of the National Anthem and raising of the Flag. If he deemed that you were not acting respectfully enough, you got Saturday detention.
The Spanish teacher, born in Argentina, had previously lived in Cuba and fled Castro during the Revolution. He knew what America stood for.
They couldn’t be caught doing anything as gauche as displaying respect for America or making a [patriotic gesture.
What would the liberals, leftists and citizens of the world in their party circuit think of them?
“standing, as most Americans typically do.” Why are we talking about this?? Every one of those reporters were FREE not to stand, whether they were preoccupied, didn’t want to, or had a religion exception. I am grateful to live in a country that would not force this on anyone.
