Biggest Golden Parachutes: BIG SPENDERS Carly Sneed Fiorina
Time Magazine ^ | 9/16/15 | Claire Suddath

Posted on 09/16/2015 7:10:46 AM PDT by jimbo123

With Fiorina as chairman and CEO, Hewlett-Packard's value declined significantly and the technology giant endured massive layoffs.

Fiorina led a largely unsuccessful merger with Compaq in 2002, going against the wishes of company founder Walter Hewlett. Asked by the board of directors to step down in 2005, Fiorina left with $21 million in cash, plus stock and pension benefits worth another $19 million.

According to HP executive compensation rules, departing executives are entitled to no more than 2.99 times their base salary; anything more requires stockholder approval. Fiorina's parachute was more than that, so the stockholders filed a class action suit (a federal judge dismissed it in April 2008)

$21 million.
That’s a nice number...

She is SOOOOOO vulnerable.
If he has done any homework at all Trump should
make quick work of her.

Surely the Democrats have done theirs.
We nominate her at our peril.

...going against the wishes of company founder Walter Hewlett<>

If an author makes such a stupid mistake in the opening paragraph, I don't read any further. The co-founder was William Redington Hewlett.

Not a huge Carly fan, but just wondering why you posted the same article a few minutes apart.

She ran for Senate in California and the Rats just ran interviews with people she laid off.

From a company that never had layoffs, and was the original silicon valley electronics company.

End of story. She’s the embodiment of Cruella de Ville, and ain’t never gonna shake that.

Just in time for the debate HP announces 30,000 to be terminated.

I have been saying that she’s an unindicted felon for a long time. Her tenure at Lucent, before she wrecked Compaq, and HP, was felonious too.

I’m shocked she still has the brass to run. She’s perfect for DC. A real crook with a Y chromosome.

That's important to know. The same strategy could be used again. It is effective.

Even if she were another Ronald Reagan (she is not), she'd be unelectable.

“the stockholders filed a class action suit (a federal judge dismissed it in April 2008)”

Anyone know why this lawsuit was dismissed?

If she were to get the nominee, the Dems would definitely go after her on her record at HP and Lucent. She would be very vulnerable.

They would absolutely try to "Romney" her. Of course she could always fight back. She seems to have a lot more fight than Mittens did.

Guess the rumor that GOPe was going to use Carly to go after Donnie brought out the TRUMPe.

“Just in time for the debate HP announces 30,000 to be terminated.”

I thought you were joking. This is going to hurt Carly, because it will remind everyone of the cuts she made at HP.
