This same thing happened in my town.

I will say our refugees came with money.

The town flipped upside down in about 20 years.

In some ways it’s like occupied territory, customs from the old country valued very very highly.

Some are very good people. Some are A.H.s

There has been a social component something like oil and water, but it hasn’t been all bad.

It’s just disconcerting to see U. S. food cuisine and night life be unable to remain in your town, because there is very little traditional U. S. type populace left to support them.

Some of the folks from the old country have the social graces of a yak with the runs.

This is the problem in a nutshell. If these immigrants - any legal immigrants really - came here and wanted to be Americans things would be fine. If they want to come here to live IN America but with the attitudes and customs that turned their former countries into crapholes, it will never work. Well, if the goal is “balkanize America” then it will work. Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

It's every where. I brought my son to his friend's house for the first time over the weekend. It's a Phillipino family. The dad is an engineer. The neighborhood is a so-so middle class neighborhood made to look a little worse for the wear by things like cars parked on the streets and dying potted plants left out front. The four bedroom house is a little too small for the parents, the four kids and grandma who all live there.

The neighbors next door on one side are from Lebanon, the other side they are from Laos. Not a car I saw pulling in or out had a person who looked to have been born and bred here.

My husband asked, "How was it". I said "Third world".

And this is a fairly decent zip code with professionals.

Can't mix iron and clay ....Islam is the problem, period. Even with Somalians...because the Koran, Haddith and Shariah are their touchstones.
